I really didn't understand the lack of urgency in the last two game considering they were playing for homefield. Obviously there is more urgency now but there are still guys injured and who know how Edelman will look after two months off.

Vollmer is back but beside that there won't be a whole lot of improvement with the offensive line. Keeping brady upright is going to be an impossible challange.

If the oline was even halfway decent I'd like their chances. With their oline in shambles I think KC wins this game.

I'm completely baffled why you can't understand and appreciate the lack of urgency over the past two games.

On the contrary, Alex Smith is exactly the kind of quarterback we should be very worried about. Doesn't turn the ball over very much. Is not a "running" QB, but absolutely can be very dangerous with his feet, so you need to commit a guy to him in that way, and that removes a guy from the pass defense. Move the chains kind of guy.

Last year he went 20-26 (76.9%), 248 yds, 3 td, 0 int against the Patriots.

He's the kind of guy we always think isn't that good but ends up throwing for 250+ yards and a couple of scores and we wonder why the Pats couldn't suffocate him.

The Pats *should* win on Saturday. When healthy, they're the better team. But it's gonna be a very, very tough game.

If Patriots fans have to "worry" about Alex Smith, then turn the lights out.

Every QB in the NFL should be respected........worry is not in reality.

Andy Johnson paranoid over Edelman not playing is more intelligent than this thread.

Glad to know that the Pats defense has no say in this game, apparently. A defense that will be the 1st game since I believe Dallas that all 11 starters + Sheard will be active at the start of the game.

dolts- Hightower missed
jests- Sheard
lolphins- Sheard
redskins- Collins and Sheard
giants- Collins
jills- Collins and Coleman (I consider the #3 CB in this defense to be notable)
broncos- Collins and Coleman
eagles- Hightower
texans- Hightower
titans- McCourty
jests- McCourty and Chung
lolphins- Hightower, Jones and Coleman

So as you can see the Pats for months have played games where they've missed 1 of their top 3 defenders this season. Well IMO the top 3 which has been Collins, Hightower and Sheard.[/QUOT

Gold star Coo man.

I was checking out chiefsplanet.com to see what their fans thought of the match up and gain a little insight on the team. A mix of good posters talking about the game and how they will attack us/defend, some not so knowledgeable posters, and then this clown:

Chiefs Let's talk about the ****ing Patriots - Page 13 - ChiefsPlanet

Looking for quality wins from the Pats this season but it should be reminded they played a scheduled that ranks in the bottom third in terms of difficulty. won against the Steelers but they didn't have Leveon Bell. Loss to Assweiler. Loss to the Jets who we beat. Both of us beat the bills.

Typical patriot schedule over the last decade and explains why they only have 1 SB over that time frame, they routinely play easy schedules thanks to their joke of a division.

If this game were against Montana or Russell Wilson then I'd be worried. But Brady is a fraud who won last year because the Seahawks defense was playing on broken limbs after getting thru the merciless NFC. His average pass distance was under 5 yards vertically in the playoffs. We can beat them at their own game with our tight ends, Wilson/Conley, and the split carry backs.

Can't wait.

Oh and we have the best fullback in the NFL. Sherman is going to skull **** them all game long =)

What a buffoon. He mentions Brady's yards per attempt but fails to grasp that Brady's yards per attempt have been higher then Alex Smith's every year. He says we "only" have 1 Super Bowl in the last 10 years. They haven't seen a Super Bowl since the 1969 season! This fool seems like he'd fit better on a Jets message board.

Yeah, Alex Smith is not a good quarterback. The fact that he is mobile and does not throw interceptions is not a reason to quake in our boots. The reason he doesn't throw many interceptions is because he rarely throws the ball over 10 yards, and plays it extremely safe. He routinely checks down on 3rd and long. The Chiefs have a pretty lowly 3rd down conversion rate, second lowest among playoff teams and much lower than the Patriots despite the rather lackluster performance on 3rd down in the second half of the season.

The Chiefs do well against bad teams that give them good field position and make mistakes, such as the Texans and the historically interception-prone Brian Hoyer. The Patriots are not such a team. There are posters who would be afraid of Johnny Manziel if the Browns had managed to make the playoffs this week.

I think this is a game we win barring turnovers or a Special Teams collapse. They are a well coached team who don't beat themselves.

Defensively I see it as a push. Both units can get after the QBs and both have strong secondary's and great LB talent. Belichick will take away their TE and force another player to beat us. Butler and Ryan should be able to lock up 1 on 1 with their WRs. Need to watch the fakes and don't let them gain yds running on 1st down. It could be a long night if we don't take care of their running game and leave them a lot of 2nd and 3rd short yardage downs.

On offense we should go up tempo to get their D tired and work the game much like we did in the SB against the Seahawks. A lot of quick underneath routes and a lot of passes to J. White. If Gronk gets any 1 on 1 chances we take our shot. It will be a tight low scoring game in the 1st half but I think we pull away a bit in the 2nd half once their D gets a bit gassed.

27 - 17 Patriots win

That same poster thinks playing in the snow gives the Chiefs the advantage. ****head obviously doesn't realize Brady is the greatest cold weather QB ever.

We'll put up 30 on them with Edelman back.

Chiefs Planet members make The Gang Green members look classy, intelligent, respectable, and well mannered. I've never seen so many references to rape and "skull ****ing" on a sports forum (or any forum for that matter) in my life. What the hell goes on in Fly Ov.... errr the Midwest?

I don't know about any of you, but I'm less concerned about this game than I was last year when we drew the Ravens.

We're home, on a bye week and are getting practically our entire team back together on the field for the first time in a very long time, not to mention the Chiefs more than likely lost their biggest offensive threat in Maclin.

It'll definitely be a hard fought win, but I can't see the Pats losing, barring a collapse of epic proportions on special teams, a la the Eagles game.

rain/freezing rain is going to make the game even tougher on offense.

Nate Ebner in a cast + Chiefs scoring a KR TD against Houston = cause for some concern (not a lot)

ST is the one area that I am concerned about. There has been a rocky transition at times this season in the wake of O'Brien's retirement.

Houston looked to be in pain when he was pulled from the game saturday against, errr...Houston. One has to wonder how effective he will be. Damn it, is it saturday afternoon yet? :D

Some high-minded discussions on that Chiefs board. One of the longest threads debates the age-old question, 'who's your favorite porn star'?

If Nate Ebner having one arm in a cast is the difference between a win and a loss, than this team wasn't going far to begin with.

The Special Teams still has Slater, Bolden and King and a weeks worth of rest.

Kansas City beat up on arguably the worst team in the entire playoff race, in a game where their QB turned the ball over 5x. I'm not worried.
