Denver vs. Cincy... unsure who to root for

When in doubt....always root for a tie.........as close to a double loss as there is.

Question for the board....suppose a team has two ties in one season. What does the two-tie record equate to?
W-L-T
8-6-2
Does 8-6-2 = 9-7? (1/2 + 1/2 = +1 on W & L sides?)
I 'm guessing 9-7....and if so .....does this 9-7* = a traditional 9-7.
I imagine tie breaker scenarios would spontaneously combust.

It's really amazing ~ and really cool ~ considering how Denver started out, that with two Weeks to go they do, yes, have a shot at the #1 Seed...but could also miss the PlayOffs altogether!!:D

If Denver wins aren't we guaranteed the #1 seed?

no, if denver wins the next two games and the pats lose the next two then Denver gets the #1seed.

... we already lost in Denver. Granted, due to our screw ups, but still.

Plus they got that whole lack of oxygen thing going for them. Would prefer not to play there, that lack of oxygen is possibly one of the biggest home field advantages in the league. IMO.

Nonsense. We took them to OT with our B team.

If Indy was able to beat them there last postseason, I refuse to believe we can't.

When healthy, the Broncos are our best match up. Be it in Foxboro or in Denver.

Without taking ties into account:

If we somehow win on Sunday, then I'm rooting for Cincy;

If we lose (as I suspect), then I'm rooting for Denver.

And as always I'm rooting for Rapistbooger, Mevis, Talib, Von Miller & TJ Ward to suffer season-ending injuries, the sooner the better.

Too bad that Oakland, SD, Jacksonville & even Buffalo couldn't stay in the PO race in order to replace
the execrable Donkeys, Stealers & Jesters.

The one and only reason I may find myself pausing to root for CIN in this game is due to the fact that they'd secure the first round bye, which would then give Andy Dalton an even longer stretch to allow his thumb to heal. By the time they'd be scheduled to play their first playoff game in the divisional round, Dalton would've had 5+ weeks to heal.

Additionally, I remember reading on a Broncos forum last season, that they thought they had the best roster in the history of the NFL*.

Delusional.

I don't like the home field advantage of the thin air; seems like an unfair advantage, and I don't want to see them being able to exploit it.

The opposing football fans don't need to continue being serenaded by the douchebag chant "In....com....plete!"

Go Bengals!
Imagine if they chanted that for their own offense when they had Peyton this year. They would've all passed out by the second quarter.

Merry Christmas everyone! I was listening to Patriots Playbook podcast, and the host John Rooke was saying that we can clinch the #1 seed even if we lose to the Jets, as long as Denver beats Cincy. Is that true?

I still think the Donkeys defense is overrated! Yes! They do have playmakers on that side of the ball! I just don't get the infatuation with that group!

In playoff seeding, a tie is counted as half a win and half a loss, so yes it is the equivalent of a traditional 9-7 as far as I can gather. You just proceed down the tiebreaker list as normal, eg best head to head, best in division, etc.

If Pats beat Jets then Cincy for sure. Otherwise have to root for Denver to get homefield. Cincy is a near guaranteed one and done. Broncos with Rotweiler have an outside chance at making a run.

They beat us with their backup qb making his second start of the season......just saying man lol. I don't think its a matter of not being able to win, its just not an ideal situation to be in if we can avoid it. We historically don't do well in denver. It's a tough place to play.

Merry Christmas to you as well QB12, and to all who read this post.

What amazes me is how a person who is hosting a Pats podcast can be so clueless. If the Pats lose to the Jets, Denver can beat out the Pats on the head-to-head tiebreaker if the Pats also lose to Miami, and Cincy could beat the Pats out with a better record. With one more win we beat out Denver because they can't catch us and Cincy because we would have the common opponent tiebreaker.

They started the season

vs
Baltimore
KC
Detroit
Minnesota
Oakland
Cleveland

Then had that game where Rodgers **** the bed.

So it got anointed as a great all time defense when it reality it was doing what it should have but it got magnified because the offense has been ****ty.

Their backup is better than their starter.

If they put their starter back in there for the rematch, we'd win by an even larger margin than if Brock was in there.

BTW - their backup wasn't doing anything until Hightower went down. We were missing our two best defenders (Collins and Hightower) and Coleman.

All other things being equal, given a completely healthy Broncos team, and a completely healthy Patriots team, I really, really like the Pats' chances, no matter where they play!

That's not saying much. All you have to do is not turn the ball over at a ridiculous rate to be better than manning at this point.... And that still doesn't change the fact they had a backup qb making his second start.

And yes I know we were missing guys. I just don't like playing the excuse game if i can help it, but that's just me.

Here's a fact, then: when both teams have been relatively healthy since 2011, the smallest margin of victory we've had over them was 10 points.

We've owned them just like we've owned Indy, when healthy.

They're a very good match up for us.

if denver wins we are almost assured #1 seed
