I had no idea how lucky I was as a kid to see this guy in his prime at the Garden. Just like Brady, a once in a lifetime sports hero. And he's not defending Brady because of the camaraderie of both being Boston Legends, it's because he knows the facts and parties involved and made the only logical conclusion.

I remember as a kid back in the legendary 86 team, was sitting very close to the front row,. You can hear Bird trash talk " I'm dunking your mother right now"
Then swish.. he look at that Knicks guy and said "see that, your mom loves my smooth move"

I wish more would come out and tell it like it is, exactly as Larry legend has done.

Truth is welcome at any time.

I wish more athletes and coaches would join in as opposed to the chicken dipshits that the silent ones truly are.

larry's right.
noting but lies from the league and their mouth pieces ( espn/nfln )

From WaPo

Strong stuff from Bird. It’s one thing to say, as many people have, that the Patriots, who beat the Colts 45-7, would have easily won no matter what condition the footballs were in. It’s another to call a respected columnist — in the city in which he works — a liar.

It’s apparent that Bird doesn’t exactly have warm feelings toward Kravitz, and the opposite is likely true, as well, if a July column by Kravitz is any indication. In it, he wrote that the Pacers chief “enjoys tweaking us [in the Indianapolis media] just for fun.” Kravitz also strongly implied that, in a matter relating to former Pacer David West, Bird “fudged the truth,” so perhaps the Globe comments simply constituted tit-for-tat.

...Presumably, a large segment of Colts fans also reveres Bird, an Indiana native who led Indiana State to the NCAA championship game in 1979, and who has also earned both NBA Coach of the Year and Executive of the Year honors for his work with the Pacers. Those fans, especially ones who would rather not believe that Kravitz made the whole thing up, will just have to get past the basketball icon’s take on DeflateGate.

Larry Bird says initial DeflateGate reports were ‘a bunch of lying’

It may or may not be intentional, but it is interesting that the Post covers the Patriots almost as much as the Redskins. It has to be burning Snyder up, and hopefully takes more interest away from his dwindling fan base.

This would have been welcome back in June when everything was going badly. It's easy to jump on the bandwagon now.

Better late then never but on time would have been so so so so so much better.

I wish just one reporter would pose the following question to Herr Goodell: Factoring in the science of the Ideal Gas Laws, exactly how much air pressure does the NFL believe NE released from each of the game day footballs that cold wet day in January?
A simple question that to my knowledge has never been directly posed to or answered by the NFL

Doesn't matter. There was a scheme to do it. That's their justification.

Capn', Larry voiced strong opinions about Moses Malone's eating habits, so I wonder what he'd say about Tommy Boy's avocado ice cream, etc.?

The Bird is the Word!

The only thing we know was that when Goodell-as-arbitrator issued his decision upholding the decision of Goodell-as-commissioner, he said that the majority of the pressure loss was from tampering. (Which of course flies in the face of their own commissioned report from Exponent.)

So presumably that's what the s**thead believes.

Not to mention that Bird is from Indiana and is currently the GM of the Pacers. However much we think of him as 'our' guy, he's at least as much 'their' guy. He's got no inherent bias here. He's also someone who deals with the local sports scene on pretty much a daily basis, so he has an informed perspective on the cast of characters involved in this ****show. When he says he instantly assumed Kravitz was lying, that's an assumption that's informed by actual, relevant experience with the guy.
