Uh oh, here we go: CBS claims Pats win coin flip at "impossible clip"

What I want to know is who's in charge of the coin prior to the start of the game? Are the teams allowed to customized the coin to their own preferences? Who takes the coin to the field? Does it visit the bathroom before the game?

You should see this movie. First of all, it is one of the greatest suspense films of all time. Second, it features one of the greatest characters in film history. Third, it is chock full of quotables that still widely circulate in pop culture. It boggles my mind that there is a sentient being that has not seen it.

In my case it was a casualty of my broad decision to block out pop culture, which seemed to become more painful and tedious with every passing year. With an approach like that it's inevitable the baby-bathwater thing would happen. Silver lining? Such blessings as not hearing Justin Bieber for years (damn you, food court sound system :D), and seeing meaningless names on the covers of newsstand tabloids. Even Kardashian was for long just a strange word that started with K!

Remember, this is Wax your talking about

This coin-flip thing will be even funnier when sweaty freaked-out jest and Colts fans take it seriously

"Belichick found yet another way to cheat! He's manipulating the coin flip! THAT'S why the Patriots always beat our team!!!!"

No, sad to say. I used to spend time harassing Bender in the Bills group over Tackling Dummy Rob Johnson (but he's Tall and has a Strong Arm!) and Tollbooth Bob Jensen in the Jests group. Good times!

how in the WORLD could anyone win 5 out of 7 coin flips?

Everyone knows you must win exacly 3.5 times. Presumably, ending on edge once.

SORCERERS!

OT - a serendipitously timely blast from the past - one of my old corny song parodies, with a reply from a Redskins fan :) Sure @PatsWickedPissah, go ahead and make me sentimental why don't you? :p Yes, thanks to the magic of the Internet, certain embarrassments have been immortalized anyway!

A vintage "Waxpoof"

0.73% probability equals impossible, now. Sometimes I think that the media regards basic math and science as some weird combination of 'not real' and magic . Public education has failed us as a society.

It is kinda funny, though. I didn't realize the Pats were on such a streak, but when we lost the coin flip to the Dolphins I did find it a little weird since it seems like we always win them.

So for 25 years (or more) you havent gone anywhere in public, watched TV, listened to the radio, or gone on many websites other than patsfans and a few other things?

It is well known throughout the league that David Blaine is on the Patriots payroll.

Nothing quite so extreme. I found I could eliminate most of the noise by avoiding a big chunk of the FM dial (you remember radio? YES!!! :p), theaters and so-called reality shows. Some things inevitably filter through, but I am pleased at how much of the junk could be so easily quarantined.

I will confess to being somewhat of a loner too, which has helped in making this stuff more avoidable. it won't surprise you to learn that I now have a friend who's been practically twisting my arm to catch up on the movie part.

Speaking of being prepared, one of the best decisions I've seen BB make is taking the wind in overtime of that Bronco's game. Gave the ball to Manning and made him play against the elements, which is not his best look. Love that guy
