All things Peyton Manning?

I just read an article where the guy begs Peyton to retire, not because of his play but so that he doesn't suffer a debilitating injury. I agree with him, Peyton is a HOF QB with a SB ring and a bunch of good stats and records. I'm not sure what else he needs to prove.

Most Career Yards might not seem important to a lot QBs, but this is Peyton Manning we are talking about. He is the king of building his resume on secondary accomplishments in hopes that one day the league will abolish all championships and Super Bowls, eliminate the playoffs, and also redact all prior results from the record books.

Funny. People were saying the same thing last year about TB12

Only issue is that TB12 was still throwing rockets and PM is throwing moths

Peyton is getting lucky thanks to his defense and the Bronco's specials teams

There was a time you'd figure it was a loss if Manning had the ball at the end of the game. He no longer scares...

They are winning despite him, not because of him. I'm with posters on here saying it will only get worse as winter approaches.

I am fine with Peyton going out in as humiliating a fashion as possible. I thought SB 48 achieved that but I guess that boy is just a dern sucker fer punishment.

I would love to see Sports Science do a segment on mannings arm.

Is there a rule that he can't use both of them?

Broncos fans are calling for him to be benched. I think the chatter will get louder as soon as they lose a game or two. Right now it would be hard to bench the QB of a 5 and 0 team.

I think 4 things kept him from retirement after last year's playoff disaster:

1.)Ego
2.)Guaranteed money
3.)Chasing volume stats
4.)He saw Brady win number 4 and wanted "one last shot." Ironically, he'll be the exact thing keeping his team from going to the Super Bowl.

I for one see the Denver Broncos are a scary team. They were my preseason AFC pick (excluding Patriots.). I was just shocked they were being written off by everyone as completely cooked when they clearly still have loads of talent and experience. I was especially shocked that people were picking the Colts over them, despite what happened in the playoffs last year.

The Broncos are 5-0 despite Manning playing this horrendously bad. Will Manning return to his 2004 form? No, 2013 form? No. But guys like Eli and Flacco have ridden great defenses and gotten hot at the right time, particularly guys who have struggled through much of the season and lucked out to even get in. Of course, that goes up against Peyton Manning being Peyton Manning, the biggest gag artist in modern day sports.

Does anyone recall the 2006 postseason, where Manning "won" his only Super Bowl by licking out. 3 TDs, 7 INTs. Lowest passer rating ever for a SB MVP quarterback, and he never should have won that award. Only TD came on blown coverage and a wide open Wayne. Just saying, it's happened before with this lucky clown who should really have ZERO rings.

These are all very good points. I agree that we should not be writing them off either. However, I see a team that is relying pretty much solely on their defense and Sanders at this point. I watched the whole game against KC and OAK and I just don't get scared of them. They look like a team still trying to figure out what they want to do offensively. Now, I know that can change in a hurry, but that's only if you have a QB who can run what you want. Manning is not that guy. Heck, the commentators were begging for them to put Manning in the shotgun at halftime of the Chiefs game.

Manning is still overthrowing guys by a mile on deep throws because he knows the arm is shot and is putting all his force behind long throws. He is still one-hopping short passes. I'm glad they finally stopped trying to roll him out because that just looked pathetic every time they tried. He's done and, as another poster mentioned, I would not be too upset to see him fizzle miserably. I have respect for him, and that statement is more because of other people than it is about Manning. I have had to listen to every nonsensical reason for why he's better than Brady. I've had to hear for two or three off seasons how Brady was done (prior to this past off season). I had to hear how he was done after four games last season when the line clearly was in disarray. I had to endure this past off season where people who don't even watch football (like female co-workers of mine) were talking about how Brady is a cheater . . . PEOPLE WHO DON'T EVEN WATCH FOOTBALL! Meanwhile, I have only read one article that only somewhat suggests that Manning is done when the proof has been on display since mid-last season. WTF?!

So yeah, I couldn't care less about Manning and his demise. Go ahead and take all the passing records you want, Manning. We'll see you in November and, if you're lucky . . . or unlucky depending on one's viewpoint, we'll see you again in January.

I HATE HATE HATE those damn "chicken parm you taste so good" commercials. The f*cking Papa John's commercials are a close second. I wish to God this goober would just go away.

Just an FYI. When Manning attempts to speak Chinese in his latest commercial it is not Chinese that is coming out of his mouth. The closest translation to what he says is something like "Peyton Rubber Arm"

It'll happen soon enough...

The Broncos have faced tomato cans with no offense so far this season - Baltimore, Detriot (Matthew Stafford was benched on Sunday for the guy the Colts used to Suck for Luck), KC, Oakland, and Minnesota. Let's see how their defense can carry their team against Green Bay, New England, Cincy, and the Steelers with Roethlisberger back.

Their defense is great, but they haven't played a team that can put up 30 points and force the Broncos to rely on Manning's arm to win. Their schedule after their bye is far tougher than what they played thus far. And they barely beat several bad teams and needed to rely on Pick 6s to win a few games.

Also, Eli and Flacco had the potential to have explosive offenses. Right now, Manning is a liability with more INTs than TDs and could have about 3-4 more INTs if not for dropped balls by opposing defenders.

Their o-line sucks. They can't run. They can't pass. They have a bunch of suck out wins against crummy opponents. A few more injuries on defense (Ware already having problems) and they will be a completely mediocre team.

They probably still win their division due to lack of competition (like the Colts) but who is afraid of this team?

Any team with a defense that good is a bit scary, especially when you factor in the NFLs love for their poster boy Manning, who I'm sure will be assisted with calls
