Guess Who Is Reffing the Pats Game This Sunday?

Actually, a very smart move by the schedulers.

He was going to have to have his 1st game with the Patriots post-'youknowwhat' at SOME point this season - - might as well be an innocuous early season matchup against the Jags.

This will get blown out of proportion by the smirk and snark media crowd (hell, I even did it), but better this week than a national audience against the Cowboys or Broncos, etc. (Colts game would have been epic).

he is the tuck rule ref, right? Or am I confusing him with someone else?

Walt Anderson was the Deflategate ref.

Walt Coleman was the Snow Bowl ref. We likey him :D

Per @footballzebras, Walt Coleman will work as referee for Pats-Jags.

Unintended humor. Always the best!

Wrong Walt!

......at least we still have the possibility of Walt Anderson doing the Colts game in October! :D

Apparently Walt Coleman hasn't done an Raiders home game since the snow game. Don't think Walt Anderson will be doing a Pats home game anytime soon.

EGG ON FACE...................

Damn I just Volinized myself............

.

This can be quite painful. I recommend that you remove your head from your ass immediately. If you leave it in too long you run the risk of becoming Volin like...permanently.

I thought the referee last week was fantastic

What exactly did Walt Anderson do wrong?

He was sloppy in his handling of PSI matters, because he wasn't trained or prepared to do better. He told the truth to Wells, who then distorted his testimony. What else?

Nothing wrong, just that it will be a guaranteed media circus the first Patriots game back he referees this year. It will be several days of wall-to-wall stories. Won't affect the Pats, but we will be sick of it then.

I think that it's more probable than not that Walt was not entirely truthful in some of his testimony. There were numerous witnesses that testified that it was not uncommon for McNally to walk the balls out alone, and after all of the drama unfolded there is video of McNally walking the balls out unaccompanied at the end of halftime:eek:

"Referee Walt Anderson‟s inability to locate the game balls at the start of
the game (for the first time in nineteen years) and the breach in standard
pre-game procedure when McNally removed the game balls from the
Officials Locker Room without the permission of the referee or other
game officials"

Anderson didn't do anything malicious, just used his own bent uncalibrated gages, didn't measure all the Colts balls in time, and allowed the Colts balls to warm up while he measured the Pats balls. I bare him no hard feelings for the sh!tshow that followed.

If I'm not mistaken, wasn't he the ref when the Colts beat the Pats in the AFC title game? A few questionable PI calls (one legit) in that one.
