i want football back......

I too want to enjoy the NFL as I have most of my life...I have this constant urge to commit mayhem on this freakin' GOON fronting all this bullshyt though. Really, I'm not sure what I want to watch more now, NFL football or Roger Goodell destroyed like a friggin' pinata on Cinco DeMayo...

I'm looking for a twofer.

BTW, let me be absolutely clear on this...I WILL spend entirely too much time at camp and preseason again this summer. I will spend far too much of my meager brain power relaying eyewitness impressions of our Pats as they go through their routines...and I intend to attend every single game they play at home this season.
I will, however, never stop obsessing about this scumbag, this obvious criminal running amok on every single one of US, the fans of the NFL. Goodell MUST go and the only way it happens sooner than later is a constant electronic assault via every media form possible. I PRAY this ignoroid tries to waltz into the Razor this season like some ******ed emperor showing off his new clothes.

I enjoyed the Superbowl after that sensational fourth quarter comeback and goalline stand at the end. That cloud nine feeling lasted about 100-107 days(can't remember how long until that toilet paper worthy farce was produced).

After the over the top punishments were handed down the only glimmer of hope was that ownership and the team would do everything in their power to fight against this blatant screwjob. Once Kraft decided to lie down and take it from the league I was ready to walk away on a permanent basis. And honestly if there was anything comparable to pro football I'd watch that instead.

I'm not exactly ecstatic about the upcoming season, next year's offseason, or the draft. I'll always love the game, but I can't stand the NYFL or its corrupt leader.

The pain comes from knowing that we have never been safe, and therefore will never be safe again. It comes from knowing we can never be so ignorant again. It comes from knowing we can never be children again. Losing innocence. Remembering heaven. That was the essence of hell.

Welcome NE Patriot Fans to football adulthood. Though "Protective Rationalization" also comes to mind.

We just have to find a way to make football enjoyable going forward (and I'm not there yet, but it is the off season after all and we still haven't closed the book on the ordeal because Brady still has his appeal + potential lawsuit). It's odd thinking that the people who have probably been the most honest in this whole affair are the ones being trampled (with the exception of Kraft).

I understand that we, as a nation, don't respect cheaters. But, I believe that I need to understand a situation, from both sides, before I can really chime in. The problem is that we have no avenue to explore the situation and people feel consensus results in truth. And perhaps that is what the quote above really means in this situation.

Why wouldn't I enjoy watching the best team in football shove this season down the face of the whiners, the corrupt cheaters and the media naysayers?

It's a war. I'm in.

its not close to a war. more like a soap opera.

While the term "war" may be thrown around a bit loosely here, I'm assuming that RayClay is simply speaking of the **** that we constantly have to go through on a daily basis just to continue our allegiance to the football team. Lots of people have put in a fair amount of time, effort, and money to root for this team; a good portion for many years now. Constantly dealing with this nonsense has brought some of us down, and rightfully so. For some it's nothing more than a hobby or welcome distraction, but for others it's a larger part of their everyday lives.

I think the main point is that in the end, should the team prevail once again, it will be that much sweeter for those who chose to hang in there and stay the course.

Speaking as a 22-year season ticket holder, agreed. Which begs the point: who wants a hobby or distraction that has devolved into a source of anxiety and frustration thanks to the very man I'm paying thousands of dollars to every year for the privilege? I'm exaggerating here (I love pro football and the Patriots) but not by too much. I can't approach the Patriots/NFL these days without a dark sense of sarcasm to make it palatable, thanks to the disheartening actions of Bob Kraft and R. Stokoe Goodell. I can no longer assume Kraft is doing all he can on behalf of his team or his fans. Talk about feeling "tainted." That REALLY sucks.

but the league the team plays in is run like the wwf. if you think the pats will ever get a fair shake you are kidding yourself.

With the exception of the inane efforts from the Madison Ave crooks. the Patriots have usually gotten a "fair shake".. I know I am in the minority, but you create your own luck.

I think this year the preparation for every contingency and situation on the field will be taken to a new and more intense level.. BB, #12, McDaniels and Patricia have more to prove than ever...

I am looking forward to a "kick ass" season.. cannot wait. Am more than anticipating the Indy rematch, or beating the crap out of Rex's team from the north..

The head of the league is actively trying to destroy our capability to win titles. He hasn't yet physically attacked the team, but trying to win in this league, plus fending off suspensions to our QB and stealing of our draft picks - the analogy isn't really far fetched IMO. we are forced to fight in the courtroom (kangaroo, then possibly real) the court of public opinion and on the field.

i we are talking about a league that took a 1st a 4th and 4 games from brady because he might have know about deflated balls. stop and think about that for a second.

Wow, thanks for bringing that up. It had never occurred to me before.

It Is What It Is! League is tired, done with us. They even have teams & refs helping them out. Nothin better than for Brady to give'm One Finger Salute and put Ring No. 5 on it. Season starts I'll be into it as always. This is gonna be goooood watchin Brady's onslaught.

i dont want football back like i used to. the league is a joke. its kind of hard for me to take serious anymore.

Agreed. I liken it to being a fan of eighties WWF, and now we're stuck with this metrosexual, wussy WWE crap.

its not about staying the course and its not about the pats. its the league. you and i can stay the course all we want. the league can and will do anything to penalize the pats for winning.
Wow, thanks for bringing that up. It had never occurred to me before.
your welcome. try to keep up.

I'm just not excited about it. The NFL front office being obviously corrupt and Kraft being a **** has done that to me. I guess maybe the excitement will ratchet up in the days leading up to opening night but where I usually can't wait for September at this time of year in the past, I'm pretty much lukewarm about it now. I'm more excited about what I have planned during the summer, trip-wise. I'm also more excited about the college season and seeing the Gators under McElwain to see if they improve. This may be the first sign that my excitement about professional football is beginning to decline. It happened to me with baseball and the NBA too.

Will you be saying the same thing when bogus calls by the refs cost the Pats games and derail the season?

Look, you have a moron as a commissioner, you have a crazed, jealousy riddled, fat, rich kid son of a Jet president playing "Gotcha!" every damn season since 2006, you have a ridiculous feces eating Jet fan punk running "official" NFL twitter accounts, you have Brooklyn born and raised New Yorker Jeff Pash as head counsel hiring Johnny Cochran's nitwit half brother, Ted "Dancer" Wells to essentially reprise the role of Maryann on Gilligan's Island and top it off with a collection of the dumbest paid for officials in ANY sport at any time in American history...and you expect a fair and balanced playing field every Sunday?

This season is going to be far, far worse than any of you imagine and if, by some weird chance, the Patriots manage to stay in contention for the playoffs, you WILL see a string of NY Jet style "pushing the pile" calls by paid for catspaws like the preposterously crooked Jerome Boger and the incomprehensibly incompetent Bill Leavy and, if, by some miracle the Pats DO make it they will run into THIS crap without a doubt. Goodell has done it before, it worked, and you better be damn sure he'll do it again.

If we go to the Super Bowl again ... it will get worse ... there will be blood

lol at thinking the league will blatantly rig games, if there was a game to rig it was Super Bowl XLIX to not let the "cheating" patriots be the champions. Settle down it'll be the same always, the officials have their own agendas too they're not slaves to the NFL.
