Brady's response through Don Yee

Since most, if not all, of Brady's testimony did not appear in the Wells Report, Nichols asked Yee if there were parts of his testimony in relation to the texts between the two Patriots staffers, John Jastremski and Jim McNally.

"Yes," Yee said. "I mean, there is an example. Without getting into the depth of the testimony, let's go back to the report. The report actually talked about that there were these texts going back and forth between Tom and the equipment manager -- and let me just say the equipment managers are very loyal, very dedicated, they work long hours for very little pay and do a great job. But the report was discussing these exchanges...but the exchanges between Tom and the equipment manager (Jastremski), one of the things they kind of glossed over was the fact that they found those exchanges to be unusual."

"And there's a very human element to this, and that is that the equipment managers largely toil in their jobs in anonymity," Yee continued. "And the next thing they know, the morning after the AFC championship game, there's this giant spotlight on this matter involving their job. And Tom's human. He's very connected and very supportive of all the staff there. And for example, it was pointed out to all the lawyers, 'Look, he's just checking on their status, how they're doing. These people are not used to being the subject of a national spotlight.'"

Can someone who has read the report shed some light what is this that he is talking about ?

Yee expands quite a bit in the CNN video - worth a viewing

Basically after deflate gate broke out on Jan 19 / 20, Brady texted and talked on the phone with Jaz. Wells believed Brady was trying to get to Jaz to urge him not to say anything. Yee stated Brady was calling Jaz to tell him there's nothing to worry about and to make sure he was going to be ok with the media pressure that was going to come his way.

Yeah this is no where close to be insult until proven guilty. Glad Yee pointed that out that the NFL wants you to prove your innocence.

This really all boils down to what you, or what the people paying you, want to perceive... Hmm, deflategate broke on this day and Brady calls his equipment manager several times. We as Pats fans think "obviously he was calling to get informed and to talk to the guy and console him." The evil NFL and media thinks "that's suspicious! He was calling him to shut him up!" Same thing with the texts about memorabilia being given. We as fans know that's a common practice between athletes and equipment staff as a thank you. The uninformed media and slanted league office look at it as a bribe to keep quiet. This sort of bias just continues to shine all throughout the report.

So really, when you get a final conclusion of "more probable than not", considering the bias present, the reality is likely to be less than 50% in the other direction. It's even more sad when your own report includes numbers that would appear to pretty much explain the issue as an effect of nature, yet you ignore it and choose to hang your hat on your personal interpretation of cherry picked text messages and conversations to determine "probable" guilt.

so if they had jaz's phone why not release those texts and messages?

He did, and Wells basically proclaimed the texts was enough to condemn Brady, but when I was reading the text transcript it was like a conversation between Beavis and Butthead.

Giselle is worth what, 350 million? Together Tom and Giselle are worth in excess of of 500 million?

Ted Wells has juice? Heh, really? a hand picked puppet of Roger Goodell is going to stand up to the team of lawyers Giselle can form using her INTERNATIONAL clout?

Drop a triple damages 1.5 billion dollar lawsuit on Roger Goodell and the NFL the second they attempt to cripple her husband's earning power for this season and going forward. SHE will be deleteriously impacted by any decision this shytheel Goodell thinks he has the power to levy. Oh yeah, and good luck Rog trying to broker any overseas league expansion when the fury of Giselle's Swiss,Italian and French legal representatives litigate your stupid azz back into the Stone Age from whence you came. There's a price to doing business, R. Stokoe but you've made it personal.

Damn straight... Führer Rog didn't just slander Tom Brady, he also slandered the father of Gisele Bundchen's children...

Nice, why can't Bob Kraft fight this as well instead of rolling over?

Because Kraft is the league, or at least a not insignificant fraction of it. Brady is an employee. We may like to imagine Kraft is on the side of the players and the fans who root for them, but the reality is that Kraft is much closer to the man everyone on this board hates, Roger Goodell, than he is to Brady, the man everyone here loves, when push comes to shove.

The report claims that Brady and Jastremski exchanging calls and texts after the scandal broke--after months of no phone communication--is somehow indicative of guilt.

Yes, it's exactly as stupid as it sounds.
If you were thrown into the national spotlight and accused of embezzlement/insider trading, would you not be immediately calling your stock broker to talk?

These asshats treat this action as though it's a clear sign of guilt... If you DIDNT talk to your stock broker at all, that would look quite a bit more suspicious, would it not???

I'd like to think Kraft has some nefarious plan, let Brady take the point and then ......... w/e.

Sadly, I agree with you.

I think Brady getting called a cheater is the holy grail of individual accomplishment. It's sort of like a natural bodybuilder getting accused of using steroids. He's so good he must be cheating. It's an argument from ignorance.

So that's why he refers to him as family or 5th son ? Have you never heard Kraft talk about Brady ?

He is either full of **** or simply doesn't have the balls to speak up. Either way to me he ends up one of the bigger losers in this cluster****.

This was an interesting interview, but there was one question from Anderson Cooper that really bothers me. It goes to the heart of this whole mess and the misperceptions that everyone has. He asked, "Did Tom Bray have any knowledge of these balls being deflated?" Yee said no, but the truth is there is no evidence that the balls were even deflated at all.

Here's the statement from Exponent:
“In sum, the data did not provide a basis for us to determine with absolute certainty whether there was or was not tampering as the analysis of such data ultimately is dependent upon assumptions and information that is not certain.”

The fact is the psi of the footballs fell into a reasonable range considering the weather conditions.

The most damning part of Exponent's report, which they don't even give credibility to, is when they compared the Patriots footballs to the Colts while using the Colts footballs as the control group. There are so many flaws with that methodology that it's not worth going through them all. I will point out that it is assumed all the Colts balls were 13.0 before the game but the average half time measurements of the 4 balls varied by 0.375. The total variance when using each gauge was 0.8. That alone tells you the computations are bunk. Yet, using this methodology, the Patriots were only underinflated by an average of about 0.3 psi. That is hardly evidence that there was foul play especially considering all the variables and unreliable information.

This whole thing kicked off because it was believed the Patriots balls were underinflated by 1 to 2 psi, not 0.3. The two gauges used aren't even in sync within 0.3. Of course that's just the worst case scenario. Other parts of Exponent's report do not even suggest the balls were underinflated at all.

This FACT has been completely ignored by the media who were either too lazy to go through Exponent's report or don't understand it... or because they are agenda driven. Worse, Ted Wells completely glossed over this or misinterpreted the report...or because he was driven by an agenda ($$$).

Now we are left with the paid opinion of one guy trying to interpret what was in the minds of people he doesn't know when they wrote vague text messages during friendly banter. Such nonsense. Such garbage.

And I said it in another thread, but those kind of potential damages might lead the other owners to reconsider whether they support Brady and Kraft in this.

I was listening to Mike and Mike and Brady was still called the Golden Boy of the NFL and the Face of the NFL. Can people in the media stop calling him those names as if to say the league and media like him? Goodell and 31 teams dislike him and the media and ex players are dragging his name in the mud all day. So I'm tired of people saying he is the golden boy as if he gets favoritism from the same league that is trashing his reputation.

So be it. For the rest of the league to stand by and watch this unfold without having any decency to say stop, this is ridiculous makes me not care. It's not the TB is a a-hole. Their silence makes it worse.
