The Seahawks board is VERY confident

About two-thirds of this Patriots team wasn't even in the league when that happened. Most of the FO and staff, sure, but it's basically Brady, Wilfork, and Gostkowski.

Heck, the majority of this team didn't play in the previous SB appearance, either.
Well, I guess some of us fans are probably more haunted than the team. Just projecting.

They should feel confident.
  • The Patriots appear to have been distracted and sleep deprived.
  • Our coach (appears) to have put extra time in dealing with the situation, which means he's spending less time preparing for the Seahawks.
  • The Hawks are the defending champs
  • Their defense is better than the Ravens and we squeaked by that team (and it took an all time effort to do that). they probaably figure to hold us to 24 or less, probably even lower.
  • Their QB, probably from their perspective, is much better than Flacco
  • They've had 2 weeks to prepare
  • Defense wins championships.

If people had to bet their life savings on the winner, I would think most people would take Seattle.

EDIT: For TB12, I'm not saying I believe the above. i'm all in on the Patriots, but from a homer perspective for Seattle, I could see them feeling that way ;)

Why wouldn't they be confident?

Ya I was thinking Gronk gave us AZ, Tom gave us MI, GB hates Seattle more thus WI, Saints fans hate Seattle thus LA, the Dakotas Josh Boyer and Adam? :) But a lot of the states are really close.
I can tell you that outside of the Seattle transplants living in AZ...the Seahawks are HATED here. Most people here in AZ are holding their noses a bit and hoping for a Pats win.

funny how all the fans here proved my point about Patriots fans being chicken littles by posting about why they should be confident and we should lose....

BTW guys, our Defense is pretty good too if you want to say "defense wins championships" we've faced top offenses this year and won

Haha...sorry...I think my original comment wasn't written well. I wasn't saying they shouldn't be confident....it's their team and they've played well...just saying that from a team that hasn't been so good in the past...if you didn't know, they sound like they've been to the SB almost every year while the Pats are some johnny come lately team.

Maybe the influx of people from other states is keeping it closer than it would normally be.

They've been like that for some time. I was there like a month ago and they were talking about which QB they want to beat in the SB. The choice was Tom Brady so let's see if that will bite them in the ass

Am I missing something? Shouldn't they be? I mean every team, except possibly the Jets, has fans that are confident. I'd be surprised otherwise.

I don't blame them; their fans look at how their D embarassed Manning and his Broncos last year and so think a repeat is in order.

Just as I care a damn about the opinion of the haters, I am least bit bothered what respect or lack of it the Seahawks fans give us. I don't care if they hate us or love us.

I just care that we win this SB, and then a few more.

That will quiet the nincompoops in the both the media and the haters for some time.

GO PATS!!

Actually, the Pats had the statistically better defense that year, no?

Maybe, but we are looking for a loser dominant D, not a winner..

Let me rephrase...Dominant like the 75-76 Steelers, 85 Bears, the 2000 Ravens, 2002 TB, last years Seahawks. Historic Ds.

K. I am thinking when meeting in the SB, the team with the better D almost always wins. When was the last time that did not happen? In 2003, the Pats had the better D.

I think the 2001 Rams, statistically, were the better D and O than the Pats.

Eli's a little disapointed about that too, but he takes solace in the Lombardi he won.

You mean the Lombardi we gifted to him

They should be confident. They won the NFC. Now it's time to move away from their friendly home field and see what they can do.

I have confidence in the Pats...all pats fans do..just like seattle fans have confidence in seattle....

I was actually going to open up an account and start posting there yesterday, but that forum, from top to bottom, is a disaster. Not only did the color scheme make my eyes bleed after a period of 10 minutes just browsing, but it was nothing but "cheatriots" types of posts with the serious X's and O's coming few and far between.

Their fans well at least on that forum are ignorant. Don't see any of their fans on this forum
