Aaron Dobson

So rob was right and everyone writing Dobson as a bust has no clue what is going on. Dobson doesn't just be the most productive rookie wr for brady and then the next season falls off the earth when he hasn't even been healthy yet

I think the point is that he's not technically injured but isn't 100% for sharp cuts or risk of injury but is getting closer to that. Presumably DA will suffice until Dobson gets closer to 100%.

Lets not forget that last year he came back early and the first time he went full out in a game he re-injured himself. Letting him get to 100% with no risk of reinjury is smart.

Especially when LaFell is more than competent and the team isn't even finding many snaps for a fully healthy Wright.

Agreed. The question is he 100% now? If so, why has he not passed Tymes? If not, why is he not on IR? Maybe he is 95% and his foot has good days and bad days and by IRing him and thus not allowing him to practice would ****** his development even further. Don't know.

No need to put him on IR since there is an open inactive spot every week.
I assume, as the quote that was posted said, he is getting healthier and is in the plans.
Why is Tyms active ahead of him? Don't know, but for 5 snaps a game there could be a number of reasons, including why risk exposing him to reinjury for 5 snaps a game?
Its possible he had a set back in the last game he played.

A lot of people make Dobson and Lafell out to be redundant, but they are very different receivers. No disrespect to Tim Wright, but a 3 wr set of Dobson, Lafell, and Edelman is mouth watering good. Obviously Gronk and Vereen out there as well. That offense if they are ever healthy all at once will be able to threaten all different parts of the field. Excited and hopeful for that in the playoffs.

Maybe he's not in football shape, is lazy, doesn't take good care of himself, have some kind of poor atitude, I don't know, it has to be something different than pure football and his play.

Beginning to think it's something like this. But i have no problem with not playing him at all.... Lafell over Dobson is fine by me as he has been on a tear.

Not like we are missing him one bit. Sit him for entire year for all i care becasue something is going on with him....

The Aaron Dropson situation can be summed-up in 2 words: Keenan & Allen.

We don't need Dobson. Hopefully they trade him away for a draft pick and we move on from all the chatter of his expected greatness. He's about as great as Josh Boyce.

Are you certain we don't need Dobson? Considering the harsh reality of injuries during the course of a season, I would say we more likely than not will need a productive WR waiting in the wings. Just look back about 10 months to see how ugly things can get when injuries start happening, and the drop off of the 'next man up' is too steep.
Fortunately this year, unlike that January AFCCG, we may actually have a WR who can step in and somewhat produce. And we may actually have a TE not named Gronk who can step in to semi produce. We also seem to have CB depth necessary to absorb a tough injury (after Talib's injury in the AFCCG, the secondary's play dropped off the map). We may also have DTs that may actually be able to stop the run if one of them is out (Velano gave it his all so I have appreciation for that -- but him being a large part of the rotation was a disaster in the making).

Seems like a lost season for Aaron Dobson.

Hopefully Aaron Dobson will be healthy for next year's training camp.

Many different feelings on this but my gut tells me that the FO realized that this offense as is could win games without Dobson and is taking full advantage of that luxury. No need to risk his long term health for small benefits, I'm excited to see how this plays out. I'm not one to cry over spilled milk but at times I find myself wondering why Keenan Allen isn't a patriot, but i'm sure other teams are wondering why Gronk or Chandler Jones isn't on there roster.

Dobson is worth nothing in a trade and worth nothing to the Patriots. Anyone that thinks otherwise can keep dreaming.
