Thanks for Browner!

+1 It amuses me how some people now see the Seahawks as an unstoppable juggernaut by virtue of the fact that they had the perfect matchup in the Super Bowl and whupped Captain Choke Artist. Beating Denver last year doesn't mean they're just going to stroll to Super Bowl 49.

Everyone seems to forget that in the playoffs, they barely held on to beat the Saints and then they really barely held on to beat the 49ers. They are a very beatable team.

While I agree that they probably won't make it back, they basically beat the crap out of the Saints. They essentially gave them the middle of the field to get their last score, then choked the onside kick. On 3 different occasions the Hawks missed INTs of Brees because more than one person was fighting for the pick. The Saints did squat for most of the game and Lynch abused them.

The Niners were lucky to even have that last drive. That game was closer to being a 4th quarter avalanche than it was a Niners win. The Hawks spotted them a quick 3 off an unlikely turnover, then gave up a 70 yard Kaepernick run (something they have never done) that led to a TD. Heck, even the TD to get to 17 was right after Avril had a strip sack that Kaep kicked forward to an Oline player for a first down. There was a lot of weird stuff in that game.

Really... The Niners don't scare me head to head, but they do scare me from the record they get against other teams. I do agree though, it won't be likely that the Hawks get back in that conference. I don't know, Harvin healthy for the year? Wilson in his 3rd year? Hard to stay healthy as they did anyways.

One thing that gets overlooked with all these guys signing is how good Jamie Collins is in coverage. I really think that with these guys, all the other corners(mainly Ryan, Dennard, and Arrington), NE is going to be able to really cover some people.

No guarantee seattle makes it back to the superbowl...but their defense sure was scary. If thats anything like what we will have next year I will be happy.

honestly I think with these signings we are a top 5 defense next year. Bill is going to be able to do some interesting things with the talent he has.

Anyone know why the Seahawks didn't attempt to re-sign Browner?

Because they already have 2 starting corners making nothing?

I think they had such a good crop of cbs they didn't need to and didn't have the money. But I could be wrong

they have lots of CBs...but i can bet his issues with PEDs/Weed or whatever it was had a lot to do with him leaving

Same reason why they didn't attempt to re-sign Tate or Thurmond. They are going to need all the space they can get to re-sign Sherman, Thomas, and Wilson.

So does he play Safety next to McCourty when he returns? I think Dennard is a very good #2 CB?

Putting him at safety would be taking away his known abilities in man coverage and in getting physical with receivers at the line of scrimmage.

Ihedigbo would be a solid SS if we could get him back for cheap

He'd pull his shoulder out signing the contract.

But, in all honesty he's been pretty solid for Baltimore. I'd probably take him back for a little more than vet minimum on a one year deal. Either him or Gregory.

Of course, we don't want any of them as starting safeties. That isn't the issue.

We have 5 safety roster spots. The bottom two are STer's and emergency safeties. We have McCourty and Harmon.

The question is who should fill the remaining 3 rosters spots. The incumbents are Adrian Wilson, Tavon Wilson and Ebner. Adrain Wilson is the current #3 safety (and could push Harmon for reps).

Personally, I think that Ihedigbo (now as then) is a reasonable #4 safety and emergency backup. And no, I don't want him starting.

I don't want any of them as starting safeties, but yes, I do.

Between Wilson's rehabilitation and Harmon's likely improvement, I'm not worried.

It's March 17th....the roster can evolve in any number of directions, seen and unseen....but continue making definitive statements based on who is on the roster right now, because it's really meaningful.

Seahawks play Zone press. Browner actually excels @ Zone believe it or not. Which lends even more to the Safety or big nickel idea.
