OFFICIAL Sunday 1/4/2014 Wild Card games thread

i smell another peyton one-and-done.

Looks like the colts Sat night. Just checked the long range forecast- suppose to be showers(rain or snow) -temp 35-32. Not the worse for a dome team but still outside and cold.

A dome team that has a mediocre running game. From a stats standpoint, they have a decent running total this year (20th in total yards and 13th in YPC), but that is because Luck rushed for almost 400 yards and 6 YPC.

that was hard to believe, sd played much better vs the kc 1st teamers

sd at denver, man that is going to be fun to watch

andy reid was stupid. he should have played all his starters and knocked the chargers right out. Can you imagine BB resting his starters and giving the jets a chance for the post-season?

And so, Andy Dalton proves yet again that he's nothing more than a scattershot inconsistent QB.

The Chargers game plan was essentially don't turn the ball over and let Dalton implode. And implode he did. He's a scrub.

Good night AFC North.

Crap. Dierdorf.

dierdorf is calling the pats game.....so glad i am going

Crap. Dierdorf.

If the Pats win, it will be only fitting that his swan song game would be watching his least favorite team go to the AFCCG.

No doubt about it, the Pats had their learner plate offense which couldn't do anything early in the season against Bengals and still would have won the game had it not been for the heavens opening at the worst time for them. The Pats offense of the last few weeks would have rolled into Cinci and demolished them back then.

Well, in terms of how they match up with the Patriots, I don't think Wild Card weekend could have gone much better for us. I think any of the three remaining teams can beat us obviously, but Brady historically struggles against great defenses, which are now notably absent in the AFC.

so, in AFC outside of Broncos, team remaining are Pats,Chargers,Colts....all teams that beat Donkeys. Manning *****ting his pants...

He struggles because of having no deep threat which makes him have to play within the lines. Tom can carve up anyone with just 1 dude stretching the field.

The colts should BE exhausted from the comeback win. :rocker:

How does a coaching staff, like Marvin Lewis', stay employed these days? Enough tape out there for him to watch and learn to imitate a team with success, if he can't figure it out himself. I have never witnessed a team ran by him that made a good adjustment mid game. I feel ashamed for believing a team with him at the helm had a shot of winning a playoff game.

I wasn't aware the Mike McCoy was the Broncos offensive co. last year.

That is huge IMO

When you have an owner like Mike Brown, that is what you get. Lewis isn't a great coach, but he's cheap! Brown would rather never win a Super Bowl than pay big money for a head coach.

Accidentally left the post-game on and heard a gem about each game this week being won by the best QB.

Alex Smith 30/46, 378 yards, 4 td, 0 int
Andrew Luck 29/45, 443 yards, 4 td, 3 int

Not saying Luck had a bad day, but I'd gladly take 65 fewer yards for 3 fewer interceptions. With all the great D's out (AFC) looks like we'll have each game positioned as a battle of the QBs, while if the games had been low scoring with mediocre play we'd hear about the virtues of defense winning championships.

Just as long as they have an angle.

yeah isn't it great!

not only that, but even the saints are still around......
