Belichick blocking Harrison now becoming the focus

To be fair Florio has been beating the Aliso drum harder than anyone else, without him it would have been buried within a day. And Florio was actually pretty balanced in his story on the video and doesn't bring up spygate superfluously like many others.

Florio runs on muck. Everyone's muck. But he doesn't specifically target the Pats.

Florio did totally ignore the story that Jeff Cumberland said that Alosi had people create the sideline wall all season which is the reason why the league have finally given in and decided to look into the incident.

I'm getting so sick of all this. We enable people by getting irritated by their weak attempts to tear down the Patriots. Even before '07 I was dealing with this crap. Especially being in the Marines, where it seemed like I was the only Patriots fan.

Really, who gives a rats ass what anybody else says or thinks. They can think whatever the heck they want. Bottom line is the Patriots are frickin AWESOME, and nobody can take that away from them. If we are worried about what others are thinking, we lose out on how we should be enjoying here and now... SO DON'T LET THIS STUFF AFFECT YOU!

What the hell is wrong with Felger? Guys an @$$!

Headline should read....well known video from 2004 unearths folks who started following football in 2005 or later.

Precisely. Almost as stupid a thread as someone here who 'guaranteed' we'd get 2 #1 picks for Matt Cassell. How'd that work out?

Go Bill go! That video is amazing and means that I love Bill more than ever before. True man love.

i agree, that was a true hustle play by bill, good on him to know the situation and use proper technique.

p.s. Bill has some hidden burst and fluidity in his hips.

Yes it looked like he was trying to at least slightly block Harrison but not touch them. A bit cheap but not anywhere near as bad as a coach actually sticking out his leg and tripping a player whose running full speed, putting the player in danger.

That is some top notch footwork displayed by Coach Bill. :D

Wow, if the media keep this up the Pats might break the 2007 mark for points. Keep it coming boys! One order of FU games coming up (serves six)!

This is more GAMESMANSHIP....great move by BB....he never did anything malicious....just made it harder for Harrison to get back and try to make a play.....especially one of the fastest guys on the colts at that time. Now the JEst coach on the other hand.....what he did was MALICIOUS and potentially career threatening to the doofin player......Apples and oranges folks,....how ESPN could draw any similarities here is irresponsible journalism.....oh wait a minute.....that is ESPN's trademark!

Yep...on top of that there is also the fact the Jets lied about this being organized and coached, and when everyone figured out it was, which wasn't hard, they try and pin it on a strength and conditioning coach and deny anyone else knew anything about it which is ridiculous.

The lies & cover up are worse than the actual tripping but so far Cimini is the only person willing to go near it.

uh..CaNNIZARRO is all over it too...

The point is NOT that it happened; the point is whether this was ordered from high up in the Jets' COC. Clearly, the Harrison incident was not something that Belichick was planning to do; it was just a dumb spur-of-the-moment thing. Which the Jets initially tried to pass Thighgate as. But as you dig deeper (OK, barely scratch the surface), it becomes increasingly clear that it was a conspiracy by the Jets.

Don't we have a dedicated thread for this?

Kdo5 What are you talking about "a bit cheap ..."

On my sideline - I am allowed to "impede" any opposing player who is out of bounds - I am not allowed to "impose" on an opposing player. (Which is why "the wall" is legal (ie not cheap) but the kneeing is)

Impede vs Impose

The letter of the Law is why words are important.
Legal vs Cheat
Goodell violated the words of the byLaw with his interpretive letter in September 07 by leaving out the words "during that game." Is a commishioner allowed to do that - we'll never know - because unlike the Jets who are blaming everone else - Bellichick accepted the unilateral edict without testing it legally (which he probably would have won)
Bill never said a word - and still hasn't - even though everyone since signaling was invented has tried to steal them.

I actually don't think that the reason for the videotaping was to steal defensive signals. Because all it takes is a coded wristband to undue all the effort to film them. I believe it is about measuring the reaction times to Patriot Offensive alignments and the reaction times to the change in the alignments. IE when can Brady make his read and know that the Defense can't change out of it because you know how fast or slow the defense reacts from the sideline.

Why do people still go to PFT? Florio just posts things to incite fans and get a bunch of page views by the fans he pissess off. The guy is the very definition of what a troll is.

Stop going to that dumb site and your life will be better.

The only relevant question here: Did BB try to cover up this incident?

BB didn't do much and the play was basically over by then anyway. Now the wall was definitely ordered from the top.. but i think the knee was improvisation.

This play with Belichick is from 2004. That's right. 2004. For anyone to bring it up 6 years later is just stupid because the situations aren't even remotely similar.

This "blew up" 6 years ago when it happened and was shown on the sports news. Certain people are just trying to create a myth of a double standard that isn't true, it's a way of taking the heat of the Jets, just like Westhoff tried to do.

This happened in high school before I was the Pats fanatic that I am. :D
