I am sure Goodell has been orchestrating this to screw the Pats again. I think the Commonwealth has an unpleasant surprise waiting for Walsh.
Maybe this belongs in the draft forum, but it would be hilarious if Walsh brought up our pick to the podium lol.
Walsh, NFL Near Deal
April 23, 2008
Lawyers for the NFL and former Patriots video assistant Matt Walsh are close to an agreement in which information and materials pertaining to past videotaping practices by the team would be given to the league.
A source with knowledge of the negotiations expects the NFL to announce the agreement today.
Walsh, a Coventry native who lives in Hawaii, has agreed to talk to the league but the date of the meeting is uncertain. Walsh has been negotiating with the NFL for complete indemnification.
The Patriots were caught illegally videotaping defensive signals by Jets coaches in September, resulting in coach Bill Belichick being fined $500,000, the team $250,000 and the forfeiture of its first-round draft choice, which would have been 31st overall pick.

Heck, even Man-Girl and Meatball think that Walsh basically has nothing new. . . . :bricks:
NFL, Walsh may have deal in place for video evidence

Lawyers for the National Football League and former New England Patriots video assistant Matt Walsh are close to a deal in which information and materials pertaining to past videotaping practices would be handed over to the league, The Hartford Courant reported.
A source with knowledge of the negotiations expects the NFL to announce the agreement today, the paper reported.
Walsh has agreed to talk to the league but the date of the meeting is uncertain. It is believed Walsh has been negotiating for complete indemnification.
The Patriots were caught illegally videotaping defensive signals by New York Jets coaches in the 2007 season opener, resulting in coach Bill Belichick being fined $500,000, the team $250,000 and the loss of its first-round draft choice this weekend.
A report in February alleged the Patriots may have had access to tapes of a walkthrough by the St. Louis Rams on the day before their Super Bowl loss to New England in 2002. Belichick has emphatically denied ever seeing footage of an opponent's practice or ordering a practice taped.
What benefit does Goodell get in screwing over the Patriots? Turning the NFL Draft into a mockery? Weakening the league by casting more doubt on the league's best team? Raising more questions on whether he covered up the original Spygate? Yeah, that will get the Pats.
If Goodell is orchestrating this to be done before the draft, it is to diffuse the situation not expand it.
May be it wasn't his intention to screw over Pats but timing of things could not have been worse. Doesn't it seem like whenever big NFL event comes up, Pats are under scrutiny? Of course, Matt Walsh, the dirt bag that he is, finally gets his deal when NFL is once again in national media spotlight. And Roger Goodel is complete douche for falling for this type of ploy over and over again.
I'm surprised some are leaping to the absolute worst possible scenario here. Belichick and Kraft both had a "Bring it on" type of attitude with Walsh so I don't know why some feel differently.
WALSH AGREEMENT COMING TODAY?

The lingering impasse between the NFL and Matt Walsh could be ending today.
According to the Hartford Courant, a source with knowledge of the ongoing negotiations expects an agreement to be announced on Wednesday, April 23.
The deal will, at a minimum, permit Walsh to talk to the league about what he knows (or what he thinks he knows) regarding potentially improper practices of the New England Patriots during his employment with the organization. It’s unclear whether the deal will also allow Walsh to speak with Senator Arlen Specter (R-Pa.) or the media, or to show Specter or the press any videotapes that Walsh might have in his possession.
If he has any tapes, we’re fairly certain that he doesn’t have a tape of the Rams’ walk-through practice prior to Super Bowl XXXVI. We’re also fairly certain that no such tape ever existed.
One day after the football world became aware of Walsh’s name, the Boston Herald reported that the Pats videotaped the practice. We believe that Walsh was the source for the report, that the Herald and others had been trying for months to get Walsh to go on the record with that claim, and that the Herald ultimately opted to green light the story with Walsh as an unnamed source because it seemed inevitable that someone would be dropping that potential bombshell.
At the time, the Herald might have been entertaining dreams of a Pulitzer Prize. In the weeks since then, their thoughts have likely been more focused on the nightmare of a punitive damages award.
Any update from FBN on what he knows? That thread is locked or I would have bumped it.
I've talked to FBN, and his information relates more to the Specter situation than the Walsh situation.
Spector ??, could you expand on that ??
I don't know if I could. I'd have to ask FBN. But it doesn't really have anything to do with Walsh.
