Patriots Scouting McFadden

Show us what cheesy little article says the pats are in every single major program like white one rice.

Maybe they just buy a fantasy football magazine like you and save on scout's salaries.

So they watch the game and ignore the quarterback? Nice trick if you can do it.

How many low round NFL picks were discovered because a scout was looking at someone else on their team? A lot.

Fact is, the Pats are on every major program like white on rice and that cheesy website just recycled a Tomase column full of innuendo and very little fact.

You have many more posts than I do, so you must be right and I will let this issue die.

Perhaps if you didn't respond in such an arrogant way "NEWS FLASH" your point would be better received.

But I see a lot of that attitude around here to new posters (although I've been reading this site for years). Quite the clique if you ask me.

I'm shouldn't stereotype, because there are a lot of posters that I enjoy reading and look forward to their insight. But other just plain suck.

I might challenge your argument, but I don't just quit and name call.

If you want to that's your choice.

Nice comeback. Almost as good as those excuses you post for LoMo.

I must admit, you make the comebacks easy. So were there be any scouts in the stands for Arkansas-LSU? How about the Cotton Bowl?

I'm certainly no draft guru, but I heard a local sports radio talking head in my area mention how Jerry Jones is apparently infatuated with McFadden. Let's say the Pats do end up with the #2 pick, would a possible trade for both of Dallas' late 1st round picks and either, Marion Barber or Julius Jones, be a fair trade?

It would but Barber is a RFA and Jones is a UFA so it's not too realistic.

Although they need defense I think a sleeper team to trade up for McFadden (probably with Miami, though, IMO) is the Raiders. Fargas is a UFA and you know how much Al loves athletes, speed and skill players. They'll be in the top ten already so trading up for them would be quite realistic.

I didn't know that. Thank you.

Is Fargas a UFA? I thought they still controlled him. The Raiders are mentally challenged so you could very well see them move up for McFadden. They drafted Michael Bush last year, but if they lose Fargas, they could go for a back. As for fargas, I'd like to see the Pats take a stab at him. He'd be a nice player to have in a 2 back system.

Fargas is a UFA at the end of the year. McFadden and Bush would be an interesting pair to go with Russell if they could get the OL playing well.

The deal could still work if the contract situation was worked out prior to the trade.

I like the idea of 2 firsts, Barber, Maroney and Morris as our 3 primary backs.

Unless Jones completely goes nuts for McFadden I think the trade is too one sided towards that Pats to happen.

It gets less one sided with each Cleveland/Dallas win. It's looking like picks around #24 and #31 right now which is a seriously long way down from the top five.

If we were willing to go that low, for all the talk about how hard it is to trade down, we could almost certainly get a #1 & #2 this year and #1 next year from a team in the 20-28 range. And we could probably get more - I know the Value Chart would say we should get a lot more but I don't buy into those charts.

While I don't know enough about the intricacies of the team lineup (my full team knowledge is admittedly weak) I've watched some footage of McFadden. He's great. A fast and, more importantly, smart runner. Very cool to see. He'll be an asset to any team. If we don't need him, though, so much the better!

It is pretty one sided but the Cowboys have Barber and Julius Jones. If they are drafting McFadden, they won't be needing one of those RBs anyways.

But if you were Dallas, you'd want to replace Jones with McFadden. Why have two speed guys??
