It's easy, and only takes a few moments. There's a lot of housekeeping to do this offseason, I think Mayo will pick guys loyal to him and trust him. I see Mayo being coach here for a while. It's hard for me to imagine a scenario where you fire Bill, keep everything else the same and move Mayo to HC and things just magically get better.
Does anyone really believe Bill was the problem? We know Bill the GM was the problem but keeping his system and his guys in place sans him is somehow gonna work?
Mayo is ****ed.
It's funny I trust Curran the least, mostly because even his partners on the show constantly check as they did today, and he backs down. As though he's throwing stuff at the wall.I feel that Curran’s reporting lines up most closely with the truth. I haven’t seen any indication that the Kraft’s have been significantly influencing football decisions outside of Mac Jones being taken at 15 which most people agreed we needed to take a QB with that first round pick.
Bill is a control freak and I think the “erosion” of his control is very exaggerated.

One thing worth noting is that Curran throws **** at the wall on TV but rarely puts it in print. If he puts it in print then it is an actual report and is sourced. This is a real article, so has more reason to be believed. It's funny I trust Curran the least, mostly because even his partners on the show constantly check as they did today, and he backs down. I also think Curran is mostly grifting at this point
But the discrepancies are definitely there; they can't all be right.
The interesting thing though is that this board has taken the Callahan, Howe, Wickersham articles as absolutes until this Curran article.
I don't think most people think we will go from 4 wins to right back in the playoffs. If there's one thing this season and the last few seasons did, it definitely softened the blow of having to follow up a dynasty.Mayo has zero long term success here if he doesn't win.
It's a lot to ask this guy to come in here and turn this into a playoff team.
He's way more likely to have two 6 win seasons than a 10 win payoff run.
Jonathan agreesI posted a couple of days ago that there has to be one person who has the authority to make final decisions. What i didn't add is that it cant be SpongeBob Kraft

Its unfortunate that tthey cant want a week until throwing dirt on their former coach and now blaming everything on him after reaping the benefits.I am more inclined to believe the Curran reporting here simply because it’s most likely to be coming right from Kraft. The other reporting likely comes from various scorned assistants serving their own interests.
Not accurateObviously Mayo is gonna get this first year on the house but my point is, if he's going to be weighed down with keeping everything the same (he apparently offered the Belichicks their jobs, and O'Brien maybe as well)
You just said it. The change is tbdand we're not going to hire a external GM and someone on staff now is simply going to take that role, at what point are we expecting for there to be changes in the results?
Based on whatIt sounds two me like the Krafts literally are gonna blame this all on Bills drafting and everything else is working as advertised.
He won't be one n done. Really? If Mayo has to 6 win seasons he's gone. He won't be afforded the same leniency that fans gave Belichick.
Curran is the one who said the Colts game was the point of no return and confidently stated Mayo would be the next HC. Both of which turned out true. It's funny I trust Curran the least, mostly because even his partners on the show constantly check as they did today, and he backs down. You answered your own question there. Bill the GM was most certainly the problem. Replacing Bill the GM is a good start.Does anyone really believe Bill was the problem? We know Bill the GM was the problem but keeping his system and his guys in place sans him is somehow gonna work?
It is abundantly clear Curran has been handpicked to be Mayo's voice, his promotor, and his defender.
And it is in the Krafts' best interests to elevate their chosen one by managing public perception of the decision and their candidate.
Clearly both the Kraft and Mayo camps have Curran on their speed dial.
I guess Tom Brady Sr's speed dial ranking has nose-dived on the Curran phone network
Same for Don Yee and Alex the Glute masseuse
