Patriots Press Conference 1/11/24, 12:00 est

I am doubting a little it was "mutual" They said that way too many times in the presser. It sounded like a person who got dumped saying they did not. I got no idea who dumped who but it sure sounded that way
It was not. Pure PR by Kraft. Same with Brady.

Never been man enough to own tough decisions.

So this was a firing. Guess I was wrong all along, I didn't think Kraft would do that.

Personally I think they both knew that what they wanted going forward were things the other wouldn't accept and the owner ultimately is the one staying. Which meant it was better to just call it a day. With the way this season went, Kraft was entitled to want a new direction and Bill for his career is entitled to go pursue things on his own terms.
Kraft made the only decision he could

As much as it pains me to say it, in the end, it was the correct decision.

I think BB dumped RK by not wanting to bring a GM in or make other concessions. The recent leak about BOB being forced on BB makes me further believe this. BB knows and has shown what it takes to be a successful coach in the league. An owner meddling more and more is not the solution and he doesn't want to waste his final coaching years.
Always amazed at such delusions. Bill 100% wanted to stay. But whatever makes you feel better.

Depends who the next HC is if it’s Harbaugh or Vrabel or Ben Johnson maybe.
If it’s Mayo or Obrein I doubt it.

The depends doesn't matter. The team has really been directionless for the last two seasons.

Am I the only one who had buffering issues? Same thing happened with Brady ceremony but at least there was volume this time.

First time I can remember seeing Belichick being genuinely emotional. As per usual he kept it brief though he lied through his teeth about respecting media and them doing am important job lol.

Kraft of course could not help himself with the PR speak. It was not a mutual decision. You fired it. Own it.

I have to say I am surprised that Bill was gracious enough to show up for this conference and play the good soldier. I would certainly not have.

Finally, Kraft confirmed Bill will coach somewhere else. So again definitely a firing.

Technically a firing, but it very well could've been mutual in terms of disagreement on how best to move forward. I also think BB recognizes the necessity of what media does, he just dislikes being required to deal with it.

It's not delusional at all. He wanted to stay under his terms, and his terms are the ones that lead to winning. Growing coaches rather than constantly changing them.

Kraft at the end of conference says thank you all for being part of this celebration. What? Lol

The worst thing Kraft could do now is hire all the old band - Vrabel, JMD, Mayo, Easterby, Zeigler, Pioli...

If he picks one, then cool. But, anything else would result in a fight for power that could disintegrate.

But whomever is picked, anything less than 10 wins and a wildcard appearance is going to cause meltdowns.

I also noticed Bill call him Robert instead of Mr. Kraft. Has he ever done that?

I hate how people call him Mr. Pretty sure he started it.

Therefore he wanted to stay lol.
