Shaughnessy blasts Patriots over tickets, parking, time

He does leave out the fact that every NFL team charges full price for preseason games. He also leaves out the fact that Kraft didn't force his season tix holders to buy PSL's for the new stadium (unlike every other owner who builds a new stadium).

point number one: kraft didnt charge season tix holders a PSL because if he did, he would lose control over those seats... dont kid yourselves... kraft is a shrewd businessman... he didnt do this as a favor to the fans... i wish i had paid a PSL for my seats. then, no (assininely large) transfer fees to my kids. no getting raped on trying to sell the 1-2 games i cant make... yes, overall kraft is a good owner, but he aint doin it for you! so enough kraft ballwashing... he's in it for himself.

I don't see any problem here......I am lucky enough to have had season tickets for over 35 years now. I'll have them for another 35 years (if I live that long) and then my sons will have them after me.

I don't mind paying for preseason games.
I don't mind paying for parking.

I happen to really like watching professional football and the New England Patriots.

Anybody that does not feel the value is there for them, should simply stay home and watch for free on TV.

What could be simpler than that??
your sons will only have them if you give in to kraft's rapist policy on transfers to your kids

He complains that preseason tickets are just as expensive as Chargers-Pats game tickets. Does he not realize that every game, regardless of matchup, costs the same amount to put on?
true.. ill sell you all my preseason tix for the next 10 years for face price...deal? hey, it costs the same to put on.

Already done and I don't mind that either........it is what it is and the fact is, I got tickets for every Pats game, most likely, until the world ends.

I thought that they didnt renew tickets under a different name?
I think you can transfer tickets to another name for some ungodly price like $3,500 per seat... but I am not sure and it doesn't matter to me since that is not what I am doing :D

I know, I was dumb to look at his article, but I am amazed at the venom he spewed. Calling it consumer fraud that the Pats charge full price for tickets and parking for pre-season games.

I'd say to avoid the article at all costs, but that would just get you to read it...

Why doesn't' that refugee from the Sox write a few columns for or about Sox and baseball stupidity? I'll even give the dweeb a few ideas for his columns at No Charge.

He complained about four preseason football games in his column. Why does sacred and hallowed baseball play a 40 game spring training; followed by a full price (!) 162 game summer training season, to get to the REAL short season?

Isn't a T-W-O H-U-N-D-R-E-D game training season, in two phases, a wee smidgen toooooooooooo long?

Baseball now plays plays a 7 to 21 game real "playoff" season, before a 4 out of 7 "championship game"? Why do they have up to seven replays for a "championship game"? Does it take that many to get it right? Even Hollywood doesn't do that many retakes...

And why are the Sox still playing i that warped Green Monstrosity of Fenway built in 1912?

Kraft put up his own dough and built Gillette.

Why haven't the Sox owners done the same? Is it because the fans won't/aren't buying tickets? I think not. The Sox owners are just cheap useless jerks.

Shaunessy go back to the sandbox where you can lick the butt of some Sox forgettable dweeb, who is out on the "Disabled List" because of a hangnail, down at the Country Club.

I know what movie the shinebox quote came from ok fleabrain. I also know what Tommy did to the smartass who said that to him as well ok chief.

What next, quotes from Gone with the Wind?

I could give two ****s about you getting season tickets, been there, done that multiple times (can you read or are you just thick as ****?), would rather watch the games at home with my friends thank you. I've got better things to do with my time than kill an entire Sunday in Foxboro, three hours is more than enough for me. Good luck getting in and out of the parking lot.

Best of luck with your tickets, if you act at the games like you do here, you'll lose them before Halloween, they don't tolerate morons like you at the stadium.

I'm done with you Mr. STFU, the classless POS that you are. You are a bigger brain dead moron than any troll that has ever showed up here, so you've got that goin for you (care to guess what movie that is from quiz kid?)...................

Great comparison... one movie is 17 years old and the other is about 70 years old... But yeah, Goodfellas is "old as dirt".... yeah... right... sure...

At first I thought you were just a jerk but now it is quite clear you are an absolute moron as well.

 The last, bitter lament of the pathetic and defeated..!! "Good luck getting in and out of the parking lot"..?! Pathetic..!!

Dude, I dont care what you say, but I appreciate not having to write a check for $3k + for the right to keep my seat. Huge props to Kraft for not charging PSL's.

I agree with you here 100%. In fact, I don't think the Kraft-bashers can do math.... If Kraft got an average of $5,000 per PSL, which he would have been able to do easily, that's over a $300 million in his pocket, free and clear.

Can one of the anti-Kraft crowd explain to me how he is recovering the $300 million by keeping control of the seats...?

Defeated? Yeah, wow, you totally schooled me there slick.

Yep, up one side of me and down the other. I'll never be the same again, I'm in the fetal position over here. You're calling me a moron; pot, meet kettle. You with the IQ of a summer squash, you dead from the neck up pimple on the ass of humanity.

You're one slick guy, quoting movie lines, one tough SOB. Guess you'll tell me next you date supermodels and bench press 400lb's and you're a multimillionare.

You do all of this while living in your parents basement and asking "Do you want fries with that" Mr. STFU...................

I'm not feeling the love here people

Well when you sign off 3 posts to me with "I am through with you" or "I'm done with you Mr. STFU" (or something to that effect) and then I make a response that just pulls you back in hook, line and sucker, that's a pretty good indication you're totally being owned.

You're like a little guppy flailing and gasping for air. Now STFU and go get your shine box.

Kraft knew he couldnt sell 68000 PSL's at $5k each, thats why he didnt do it....or are you saying he doesnt know business?

Sorry, Danny Boy, but Kraft sure as hell could have sold 68000 PSL's at 5K each. The problem with doing that is then he can't restrict the change of hands on the tickets the way the Pats are doing.

One of the things with not doing the PSL's is that a PSL can be willed to someone if that person dies. Season tickets the way Kraft did them can not.

There are other business reasons to avoid PSLs. The logevity/permanence of them as you point out, have many other consequences all of which limit "flexibility" of the owners. For example, if they ever want to reconfigure the stadium, run promotions or other things where they need access to seats to pull it off.

But perhaps more importantly, PSLs can have a very bad effect on the overall fan base. Every team has to balance corporate and blue collar (as well as local, geographic, and other demographics) to maximize total revenue. PSLs tend to ruin the diversification of your stadium revenue stream - makes it too corporate and/or fixed. Yes, not having them presents risk, but flexibility and diversification tend to win out.

Make no mistake, it was a business decision through and through. I would never accuse of Krafts of doing something stupid for sentimental reasons. Thank God. Only loser organizations like the Bengals do that.

Ya right...Krafty decided it wasnt a good idea to make 300 million. If you believe that, I got a bridge for sale.

LOFL!

PatsWickedPissah,
This thread was started regarding the article concerning the rip off known as full price for preseason games and related items such as parking.

I responded and the stool sample known as QuiGon tells me to STFU and stop whining. And as you can see, it has gone downhill from there.

Who other than someone who ate a lot of lead paint chips as a kid would attack someone, a fellow fan I might add, and tell him to STFU and stop whining. Do I have a history with this douchebag, no I do not, not sure what his problem is, but as you can see by reading his posts, he's got a major personality disfuction.

Two words; anger management.

He should look into it.
