Foster is spectacularly quick, there's no question about that. The question is whether a kid with a cornerback build (5'10" 193) who played WR his senior year can be an NFL RB. I'm certainly pulling for him -- IMO the Patriots' offense absolutely needs 2 pass-catching RBs.

Absolutely. It's not as if tiny quick guys never slow down once the pads get worn, and the defensive players get to hit them, after all.

Calling it- Hello, Foster. Goodbye White.

Or just keep both of them. Never say no to a good pass catching RB. I don't care much if we don't have that big 230+ RB to move the pile. If you can explode through a tight hold or bear a DE on an end around then that works too.

seriously, he's smaller than JE11 (5'10", 200lbs)

Though i expect Jacoby to not succeed in the NFL I don't think a bad first day of OTAs means anything. First time seeing anything close to NFL speed. I hope no one is looking too much into it.

On the other side of things I am very pleased to hear Jimmy really looks the part this year. He has flashed 2 years in a row and if the consistency is there i expect he can be a long term answer for Brady or will get the Patriots a first round pick next year if he plays 4 games well (which i expect him to if it comes to that).

Foster is an intriguing prospect. He has a background as a WR and RB. There is a possibility that Foster is the WR6 and RB6 and they keep White.

I dunna know. They need to keep 3 QBs so who knows what the depth chart will be,

This team is going to have a numbers problem, and it's inevitable. There will be binkies getting the axe. Frankly, if Lewis is deemed ready for week 1, and someone else outplays White for the 3drb2 spot, White would seem to be an easy cut.

Agreed. I think White actually has trade value to a team like HOU or DET but something in the 6th or 7th rd seems appropriate.

Well the way Blount played last year and the way White played last year I don't see how we can keep Blount over White if Foster forces his way on if it comes to that.

I would be perfectly fine with Lewis, White, Foster, Bolden, Develin if that is what they want to do. A small RB backfield does not mean bad.

Also i can't seem to find that page with the verified twitter links. Anyone care to help out?

White can't run the ball, BobD. At a minimum we know Blount can vs bad to average run defenses.

In retrospect, after learning that Garoppolo was basically trained to emulate Brady, I understand why they selected him. Yeah, there's the whole FCS thing, but plugging him into the system would appear to be relatively seamless. With Brissett, he seems to be a very different player, so I'm still not sure why they drafted him. (FWIW, I think he might be a starter somewhere, but I have a hard time seeing him as the starter on this team.)

Another RB drill. I think the order was Bolden, White, Gaffney and Foster but could be wrong.

It's easy to see for anyone who pays attention to how the team uses its running backs, especially if they don't undersell Blount's running last season.

Yeah, it usually does. And that backfield would be a steaming pile.

Dude....that's a big man.

Some more DJ Foster porn.

Once fans get a load of him making a huge play in his first pre-season game they are gonna be talking about him for the rest of camp. Also for reference you see a girl start to brush her hair back and by the time she finishes her hair brush Foster has already completely the route & made the catch. ;)

I wouldn't be surprised if Blount is the guy who gets cut.

That would depend on how well he has recovered from his injury combined with a bigger guy, relatively, like Brown showing well.

You are comparing Edelman and D Bryant, different kind of players. White is fighting against Foster, Lewis...
