1st post guys, sup? I've been reading this forum for a while and believe we can all agree Brady is GOAT and I am convinced this Saturday Brady will once again prove just that! I was all about ready to give up until I remembered who our QB actually is! Do we make the SB? I can't say because.. we are onto KC!

Honestly though, if Gronk is okay I see us winning by 10+. I just have this gut feeling we can do this. If it makes my opinion more credible, I knew we'd lose to Miami.

Greetings!

Welcome to the board, and I like your optimism! I don't recall a playoff game with as many variables as this one, with injuries to Brady, Gronkowski, Edelman, Amendola, Vollmer, Jackson, McCourty, and really having no clue about the extent of each injury. Steven Jackson is our featured running back and hasn't played a truly meaningful game in years. Kansas City is also quite banged up not only with Maclin but some key members of their defense.

That said, I just really don't know what to expect on Saturday and nothing would really surprise me. We might see a Patriots offense that proves to be permanently handicapped for the remainder of the year, or we might see a well oiled machine; more likely somewhere in the middle. We might see a KC team that is really as good as they've looked or a team proven to be overhyped after beating a bunch of bad teams.

Both teams have some gigantic question marks like I've rarely seen at this stage in the season. I have no clue how to handicap this game.

I fully agree with you, although I think it's tough to pick against our Pats in this spot.

10 is a blowout? Sort of a typical 2 score lead for NE when putting the game away.

NE will come out slow like always after a layoff.

I keep reminding myself that even if we lose one of the next three game, I really shouldn't take it too hard. After all, just 11 months ago we won the greatest Super Bowl of all time.
Well, that's certainly the way the fans of 31 other teams would see it. :)

I definitely would not agree with you if the Patriots had put up a dominant season and finished the last six games with the same form as the first 10. Then, I would feel that this team "should" win the SB.

But, given all the injuries and how they finished the season, I guess I can see your point, but I would change your wording to "next two games." If they get to the SB, I would take that loss in a different way.

What Ice says here is also right on the mark to the why I have been feeling all week. I have never felt like I had NO IDEA how the Pats were going to perform for a game let alone a home playoff game. Even last game I figured Miami for HFA?? No sweat!

For this game with everything with the second half of the year, and all that happened since "Happy Time with Chandler" show debut I sincerely think the Pats could run the gambit... It would not surprise me if they look utterly dominant... it would not surprise me if they seem uninspired, limited by injury, or just plain suck.. (though the latter would surprise me more).. Normally I feel pretty sure they will always win and should always win.

I'm not sure about a blowout but I think the NE D will be the best unit on the field and hopefully we see a score in the area of 20-13, 23 -16.

Just curious.. do you mean a SB loss would feel worse? Or that you would be impressed that we made it with all the injuries etc..

I know losing the SB sucks, however I consider just making the SB a great feat for a lot of reasons.. but my favorite reason is DENYING another AFC fan base the SB experience... The more SB appearances we have means the more times another AFC fan base suffers, which is fun for me. I get a lot from certain teams fan bases misery (Denver SB 48 for exmaple... Colts every single year; Jets/Buffalo/Miami for decades)

I enjoy the optimism but I think a lot of people are underrating this KC team. I said before the playoffs started that this is the team that matches up the best with the Pats and would be our toughest out. That said, their injuries bear monitoring as well. I would take a close win over them. Anything else is just icing on the cake.

I'm also trying to figure out why the OP deserved a dislike.

Could be a misfire... I can't tell you how often, on the iPhone, I go to hit 'agree' and accidentally hit 'dislike', or attempt to hit 'funny' and instead hit 'disagree'.

Omg! What a troll job this one is.....

When it comes to Brady and the Patriots... Winston Churchill said it best...

Welcome to the board. I will be happy with a win, whether by one point or 20. I am worried about Gronk, whom I don't think is particularly ok. I like your positive attitude though!!

yeah. I've stopped even trying to give Ratings on my phone. I can never hit the one that I want.
