@ezlazar: Not sure if DeSean is 100%, but Malcolm Butler is really fast. Stride for stride with Jackson downfield for most of the day.

Time to bump this, after Butler shut down Odell Beckham Jr. for most of the game.

Great end zone breakup. Several other very good passes defended. The PI call was sketchy at best. Only flaw was the opening big play TD, and if McCourty does his job and seals against the big gain that isn't really a big deal. Gotta give Malcolm bigtime props for his performance against the Giants' best receiver today.

Butler was fantastic today. The big Beckham TD was a great play by Odell but an unlucky play with McCourty taking the wrong angle. He made another game saving play at the end. This might be an overstatement but he's playing as good as Revis did last year.

He was outstanding today. OBJ is the best in the league.

Malcolm hung right with him....and won most of the standoffs.

Huge game in his quest to be an elite CB.

He was excellent today. Can't give him enough props. Aside from one play (which I blame DMc for the result) he was terrific against ODB.

.... Getting better every game. Him and the whole secondary and the defense.

Agreed. Multiple passes the Giants WRs brought in were good coverage, hard fought, low % completion success. Also remember the refs decided that even breathing on a receiver was PI.

Secondary did alright. Butler was a battler and Ryan again with solid technique to make his coverage competitive. Sure Melvin got picked on a bit but kudos to that guy.....he's an unheralded player very quickly pressed into severe service. We couldn't expect he could be satisfactory this quick could we?

Major shame to those who were blasting the secondary and D all game. They fot the ball back when needed and/or kept them out of the endzone when needed. They did alright....

Had the play of the game with the strip in the EZ

If you take away the TD play that DMC blew up (that he would have given up about 15 yards on), he held Beckham to under 40 yards today.

That pi call was as bad a call as you can make. When BB wanted challenge flags to be applied to all calls this is when he would use it and it would have been overturned.

Butler was great and is turning into a shutdown corner before our eyes.

Butler was maybe too aggressive on the Beckham TD play. I think he was looking to make a play on the ball, maybe underestimated Beckham a bit. That said, McCourty should have been there to clean up. After that, Butler was fantastic. Butler/Beckham could develop into a good rivalry if we played them more often.

Butler had Beckham's number tonight. Beckham's frustration was obvious at times- what a great battle!

It was awesome watching those two today

That TD was entirely on McCourty IMO. Not just because he took a bad angle, but also because his tackle attempt took Butler out of the play.

Beckham made a great shoestring catch on that ball, props to him I don't think many WR would have caught that ball. It should have been a 20 yard catch either way McCourty is paid a lot of money to make sure 87 yard TDs don't happen.

OBJ is absolutely not the best. But Butler was incredible today.

A rare, good, Volin tweet:

Stats say Odell Beckham had 104 yards and a touchdown. Behind the stats: Caught 4 of 12 targets. Had 3 catches for 17 yards after his 1Q TD

And the PI against Butler was totally phantom, as it was against Chung as well earlier in that same drive.

I heard that.

Also I get the feeling Malcolm Butler can whoop OBJ's ass in a fight
