All things Peyton Manning?

Nice fetal position flop. LeBron would be proud.

And his pick-six to rookie Marcus Peters was a thing of beauty.

I saw that last week too. He dove to the ground on two of the four sacks. He is hearing footsteps when people pressure him now.

No one will say anything about this. But Brady ducked one time 2 years ago in a game when a defender got pushed by him and he was seeing ghosts.

In PMs last 10 games as a Bronco

375 throws, 61% comp 14 TD 10 INT 84.5 rating.

Peyton threw 5 interceptions last night. The Chiefs have a knack for imploding when playing former/current Colt Quarterbacks it seems.

His decline is most definitely here (despite was BSPN says).

I think what you saw last night is what it is. He is not going to be able to consistently make strong, accurate throws over the course of a game. But he is experienced and talented, and competitive in regular season games. With a good defense and laughable displays of competitiveness from teams like the Chiefs, they'll make the playoffs.

All things being equal (ie, health) I'd put the chances of this team, with this Manning, beating the Pats in the playoffs at....maybe 5%?

This was one of Peyton's best recent games and it involved a pick 6.

He had hot and cold streaks this game so to speak. The decline is obvious but he will be capable of 1-2 good drives a game it seems.

Here is how the Broncos scored in order

TD - 10 plays 80 yards - Peyton looked good here tbh. Obviously not vintage but solid enough. Looked like a top 10 QB on this drive
TD - 4 plays 15 yards - Basically a gift TD given to him by his D. Didn't mess it up but didn't have to do much either. Not impressive.
FG - 5 plays 22 yards - His kicker made a 54 yard kick. Another short field. He marched them into the edge of FG range
TD - 10 plays 80 yards - You would think this would be another solid drive but his arm was clearly gone by this point in the game IMO and was lucky his errors were not capitalized on. He did have a few good passes on this drive but very inconsistent.
TD - Fumble recovery by D.

So basically his D gave him 17 of their 31 points (super short fields for a TD, FG and actually got one in themselves). He did have one good looking drive and one meh drive. Overall if you did not know the QB you would think it was a fairly average performance.

Of course his own pick 6 really hurt his team as well.

If you ever wondered how far you could get in the NFL with 100% mental talent and 0% physical, this Broncos season is for you.

The AFC West is very average. KC should be embarrassed by that performance last night. Awful.

Well he did take the team on a long TD drive to tie the game...make Andy Reed act stupid again....he might have lost arm strength but he is still finding his moments and having his defense back him up isnt hurting either.

He always plays his best games against KC. That game last night was as good as it will get for him. And it was a mediocre game at best.

Genius move to take Marcus Peters off of Thomas on that last drive.

Guy only had a pick six, another near INT and about 5 pbu going against him.

Despite his obvious decline, exhibited in the earlier part of the game, when he had to come through at the end of the game, he delivered. Much as I like to dump on him, you have to respect that.

But I will also add what has been often said, that the prevent defense prevents winning. As demonstrated again last night. Manning needs time and room in the pocket and the Chiefs gave him that during that last drive.

I'll confess that I thought last night might be one of those games that people remember as the definitive break between eras--really thought KC might thump the Broncos.

Didn't happen obviously, but a team with tougher stuff the Chiefs might have gotten it done.

I don't blame Manning for this. He was not getting away or throwing it away. Why take the hit? Going down like this was the smart thing to do particular considering his condition.

Why not step forward and throw it away?
