Also,

What do you think this offense would be like with Dez and Gronk together? What would it mean for the rest of the NFL?

McC. Brady can get scores without Dez, but I dunno how many scores this D prevents without DM.

Both. Dez Bryant could help us 2007 these other loser teams.

Bryant wouldn't be on this team, he would either be holding out or gone as a FA, no way Belichick pays a receiver that money. Right now he has Edelman, Amendola, LaFell, and Scott Chandler. For the same price as Bryant, so to me the question is whether you would take Bryant or those four. McCourty has nothing to do with it.

You know, they don't give you an extra football when you get another receiver. I saw 19 straight completions using mostly Gronk and Edelman, so utilizing 3rd down backs [3] Scott Chandler, Amendola, Dobson, Harper and LaFell returning leaves untapped resources there.

On the other hand, do you really want to weaken our secondary at this point?

This is reality football, not fantasy football. It's about consistency and winning games, not highlight films.

Another WR thread :D

Questions: Could Bryant learn the Pats pass offense or would they have had to change the offense just for him

Question - would having Bryant have added any more yards or TDs to the general pass offense?

Question - It took 3 years before Bryant became a dominant receiver. Think of the lost production on defense those first 2 years.

Question: Bryant barely survived his first 2 years in Dallas after being babysat every day. Think about how he would have worked out in Foxboro.

Question: Assuming Bryant survived his early years in NE. Assuming he learned the offense to become dependable as well as dominant. As Ivan noted, do you think BB would have met his contract demands?

Probably McCourty, right now. Yeah Dez would be scary in our offense, but imagine how atrocious the secondary would be without McCourty.

Last year I would've been a little more inclined to say Dez.

I think this question is asked often and consistently ignores that Dez Bryant is for the Cowboys what Gronkowski is for us.

Gronkowski is not going to have 30 touchdowns, Dez 1500 yards, and Edelman 100 catches.

Do you honestly believe that the Patriots would have spent their #1 pick on a WR and their next pick on a TE? If we had taken Bryant it is very likely we would not have selected Gronkowski in the next round.

If Aaron Hernandez wasn't such a dumb **** we would have had 2 all pro TEs, an all pro safety, a 100 catch/1000 yard WR out of that draft class with McCourty, Gronkowski, Hernandez, and Edelman all draft in 2010.

Basically people wanted Bryant, Gronkowski, and Hernandez, plus resign Welker, plus trade for Peterson, plus trade for Fitzgerald...

It turns out it was a blessing in disguise that we drafted McCourty. Imagine where our secondary would be today without him. Plus he's a great leader. That being said, who wouldn't get excited at a Dez Bryant type receiver in THIS offense? In reality, Gronk is our Dez Bryant. But would still love to see a big TALENTED, smart receiver in this offense, though Lafell did a great job in that role last season, hopefully he can duplicate that when he comes back. Definitely would rather have McCourty.
