At least publicly, he handled it exactly the way he should have, which is nice. He sure didn't look happy on the sideline. Hoping he uses it to motivate himself, not to become a crybaby. Article suggests he's handling it well (though obviously privately we have no clue what he's thinking):

Gray would not "confirm or deny" that Sunday's DNP was the result of disciplinary action for being late Friday.
Patriots coach Bill Belichick was asked if the lack of usage for Gray was discipline related. "We do what we think is best," Belichick said. "That’s what we did today."
