Seriously!

Believe what you want with regard to Josh and Bill. DI has told you the truth, BASED ON THE EVIDENCE BEFORE US.

Dobson has not shown enough in games or practice to be ahead of Amendola in the depth chart. And it seems that he is about even with Thompkins.

I agree than one of Dobson or Thompkisn or even Tyms should be active. But Belichick has removed the mystery. As of the start of the KC game, Belichick and Josh have Amendola higher on the depth chart than Dobson. There is a slight possibility that they believe that Amendola is currently behind Dobson, but is expected to better very soon.

We will see Sunday night what Belichick and Josh now feel. The OPEN question is who will be inactive. I expect that one WR will be inactive.

You cant tell me that Amendola should start in front of either one of these two. Not only are they different receivers, Amendola has been a complete disappointment. From day one.

I don't think it's that cut and dry. I think the team realizes what they're paying Amendola and are trying to give him every opportunity to lock dowm a primary role in the passing game. Sadly, he looks even slower than he did last season. I think it's only a matter of time before Dobson, and maybe Thompkins, leapfrogs him for snaps. That's just my opinion.
Should have been leapfrogged weeks ago.

I'm not telling you anything. Belichick believed that Amendola was ahead of Dobson and Thompkins before the KC game. That is what I said.

It is you who thinks that Thompkins and Dobson were ahead of Amendola.
======
I agree that we should dress four wide receivers. My personal opinion is that Amendola will also be active.

Of course he will be active. And also have 0 catches. Other teams should just leave him open...Brady really never looks his way anyways

The evidence is what Belichick saying it is not true and the player who is coached by Belichick reinforcing it. Well in that case forget about it, I mean none of them has any reason to lie…

The reporter does not have anything to gain from writing it; she did it because she had a source that informed of it. If the source is, wrong whatever, but if you think because Belichick and Dobson who both would be under scrutiny if it were true said otherwise that is case closed, I have some property I can sell you for a real good deal. You seem like a bright guy MG you cannot be naïve enough to believe that just because 2 people who have everything to gain and nothing to lose by denying the rumor do it that it is a certain truth.

Dobson has 13 yards in 1 game; Amendola has 16 in 4 games. What you say here is just false, Amendola has shown us nothing, he cannot even get open without a designed play or a blatant pick off of his defender.

I think you look at it too simplistically with the Amendola or Dobson, we have 46 spots on the game day roster, we can deactivate players who play a position other than WR, we went into Monday’s game with 4 real WRs active.

Of course Amendola will be active, if we cut him tomorrow we would have spent $11.8M in cap dollars on him, can you imagine having a player inactive in week 5 of his second season when you made that type of investment? The fact it is even suggested highlights why that signing is potentially the worst of Belichick’s tenure.

We did? I only saw three. Who was the fourth?

Do you ever sleep? Eat? Drink beer? Fornicate? Travel? Play cards? Exercise? Watch porn? Mow your lawn? Rake leaves? Cook? Wash dishes? Do laundry? JC, you need time off this board, man. Just trying to help...

We agreed to disagree, MG quoted my post, this response was to him. I stand by my belief that something went on with Dobson beyond his play that has prevented him from being active the past 2 games.

It's pretty amazing how quickly people have forgotten Amendola's week 1 game last year. There's no way anybody could have been disappointed with how he performed in that one.
It was 1 game – what do you expect, posters are talking about Brady sucking and he was incredible for 13 years, had 1 bad game and a few average games, and it is a wrap in many peoples mind. Amendola played 1 solid game 13 months ago and you expect what...

I've given Amendola every chance possible thus far. I've defended him multiple times on this forum. I can't do that anymore. He has not come close to earning his contract, to date, and looks shot as a WR. He's essentially a slot receiver that can't get open at all, let alone quickly. Through four weeks, I can't see one good reason why he's been active and Dobson has not.

If what Bill says is true, that Dobson's inactivity is due to football issues instead of discipline issues,
then I actually feel worse about it.

we'll see on Sunday Night, Stoney...no way he sits the fifth game of the season at HOME...against a team with such firepower?. ...unless that foot is still gimpy

One week is a long time in football @Sciz...

This is exactly why I stated in multiple posts that we should take SMY's story with a grain of salt, instead of piling on JMcD like everyone was doing.

She's gotten stories wrong before--they all have/do.

Find this hilarious, the Globe amongst other mediots in the area spread and perpetuate the rumor about Dobson/McDaniels having a dustup, when BB offers an explanation they think that the explanation is a coverup.. it leaves more questions.

The need to parse very word is absurd...

Typically Detached Patriots’ Decision to Address Tiny Aaron Dobson Rumor Leaves More Questions

This may very well be suggesting a mountain be made out of a molehill, but the whole situation smells a little fishy, especially since Belichick couldn’t just utter the few short sentences at the podium.

Is this simply the difference between a football story – as is the case with Brady’s struggles – versus a personal attack, where the coach feels the need to stick up for his second-year pro and not his future Hall of Famer? Or is there more here?

This is some of the most incoherent rubbish I have read anywhere (including this forum). A collection of random snide remarks and speculation that is admittedly based on zero information or insight.
