I think Goodell should make the draft a week-long event in London. It can be staged under a big outdoor tent in Picadilly Circus. He can bring along the Rockettes to perform, and perhaps the Rolling Stones can be hired to play tunes live between selections. British fans of the NFL will show up in their favorite team's jerseys and pay $250 per night to witness the full dog-and-pony show which will be broadcast live worldwide.
Quit *****ing and don't watch it. I'll watch the first day, catch the rest on ESPN.You can waste your time watching this "event" over four days...it's a free country. If people watch it on multiple days they will show it on multiple days.but how do we KNOW this to be a FACT? It hasn't been done yet If people watch 18 games a year they will play 18 games a year.Fans will watch 36 games a year if they can.Straw-man If they move it to May and get bigger ratings they will move it to May.it's BEEN moved to May without ANY regard for the fans. Time will tell if the NFL gets bigger ratings If people watch games on Thursdays and Saturdays, they will play it on Thursdays and Saturdays.Did you even look at the ratings decline on Thursday night games as the season progressed? The league SHOULD have a captive audience with stellar ratings for a SINGLE game. They don't. I don't even know what you mean by "Saturdays" . If this is something YOU want, good luck fighting college football Do you start to see a pattern here?
Hate Goodell all you want, but he doesn't do anything without the owner's permission, sure he does...just LOOK at all the "gates" he's spawned and so far, every single damn thing he has done has reaped those owners huge rewards.the Patriots reaped a "HUGE REWARD!!!" by losing millions in cash and a first round pick? For what was essentially a unilateral decision by Fuhrerdell? If you want to get rid of him, stop watching football.
They'll probably keep pushing the envelope to see how far they can go then, in the first year that shows a total revenue loss across the board, will start to pull back some of these new ideas. The draft was fine how it was. They then screwed the pooch by moving it back a month and now, on top of that, they're trying to make it a four day "extravaganza"? Come on.
Ummm....technically it's his third......somewhere there is a napkin that proves it.....Ummm.....BB is on his second also.......
He does PLENTY without the owners' "permission." They don't collectively micromanage him. Do you think they vote on every little initiative he hatches?Hate Goodell all you want, but he doesn't do anything without the owner's permission

But he only does those things because of his Napoleonic Complex. He's under 5-foot-7; some reports say he's 5-5.I'm actually a HUGE fan of Putin, how can you not like someone who fishes with a rifle and wrestles bears?
As it relates to the teams and their traditional offseason programs, they've screwed the pooch. It's been mentioned elsewhere in the thread as well. Rookies now have one less month to get integrated with their new teams. As for the viewing aspect of it, I'll probably do what I always do which is watch the first round then just follow the remaining rounds (either on Sirius or online). As for the viewing aspect of it, I would imagine that the only thing that would lose them viewership would be both the NBA and NHL playoffs getting deeper in than they would have been in April.I fail to see how they've "screwed the pooch" with a move to May. It may not be some people's preference, but I know I for one don't give a crap, and I have yet to meet one person who would have watched the draft in April but won't in May.
Dude knows jiu jitsu though so you might not want to say that to his face. I have a feeling people might let him win, though. But he only does those things because of his Napoleonic Complex. He's under 5-foot-7; some reports say he's 5-5.

And by "one less month" you mean "two less weeks", because last year the draft was on April 25th. This year May 8th. The amount of outrage in this thread is completely disproportionate to the actual impact of any changes made.
Given that the same level of "outrage" is being displayed on multiple other forums, by fans of multiple other teams, it would seem that your positioning this as "in this thread" is underselling the situation by quite a bit.
