Denver will have drastically improved their defense and their offense will still be a force. Meanwhile we lost our top CB (to Denver no less) and we still don't have our top receiver under contract. There isn't much else out there that we can get should Allen and Ware be scooped up. As far as improving through the draft, we've seen this team fail miserably over the years at trying to do so.
So yes, signing Revis has become a necessity. Even if we get him though, we have still lost ground to Denver. A team that manhandled us in the playoffs.
Agreed, we kind of have to sign Revis. It sucks that Denver just got a lot better, if they get Ware, they could have a dominant D-Line and not too mention the impact that Talib can have on a game. Revis would give BB a weapon to play on defense.
The last time BB Tom Brady and Patriots won a SB they actually had what's called a Defense. They get a Darrelle Revis happy days on Defense are here again. If they can get him they should try to pull out all the stops you dont get a chance to get a player of his caliber everyday. If that means cutting a Vince Wilfork or somebody else you can replace you make this move all the time.
well the so called "NFL Insiders" seem to think there is a chance..maybe they believe in santa claus as well
While Ward and Talib were good signings, I think you dramatically overestimate what Ware brings to the table at this point.
You are holding that one off year against Ware you are truly clueless.:snob: Look at his career stats again.

I think he's going to return to All-Pro form this year, personally. You are holding that one off year against Ware you are truly clueless.:snob: Look at his career stats again.

Career stats...awesome...but those will not reflect the type of #s he will put up this year
Actually they will, if healthy he'll get double digit sacks this year.Career stats...awesome...but those will not reflect the type of #s he will put up this year
It's not one off year, and it's not based off stats. Thanks for trying and failing once again, though.

If Revis comes here, one way or another he will be the highest-paid CB in the game, either on his current deal or a new deal.
“I don’t ever believe in selling your soul for a bowl of [porridge],” Kraft said recently on 98.5 The Sports Hub.
Bruschi loves the idea
First our top receiver from last year proved that the position he was in is a revolving door. As long as you are healthy and can catch a football, the slot receiver of the patriots is going to break 1k yards and 100 catches. I love Minitron, but if he gets a huge contract someplace else its not going to be hard to get another slot receiver to plug into his spot. the bigger issues last year was that we had nobody else with experience on the roster, this year we will have 3 guys who saw a lot of time(thompkins, dobson, amendola)
Second if this team has "Failed miserably" so often, how has the team been to 3 straight afccg's? how does this team have the highest win % of any team in the last 10 years?
Hard to blame Patriots for losing Aqib Talib - ESPN Boston
Conclusion: Revis is unlikely to sign with NE. There is no other CB available as good as the one we lost. We will be less talented at CB.
