Re: Report: Rob Gronkowski tore his ACL

Losing Brady in 2008 was far worse. No comparison.

I was not talking about things 1to1 I was referring to everything this team has experienced this season:

  • Welker leaves in free agency
  • Hernandez charged with murder
  • Wilfork lost for the year
  • Kelly lost for the year
  • Mayo lost for the year
  • Vollmer lost for the year
  • Gronkowski misses the first 6 games of the season and now is likely lost for the year
Those are just the major things plenty of other injuries such as Talib, Amendola, Vereen, Dennard, Dobson….

Re: Report: Rob Gronkowski tore his ACL

R.I.P. knee.

Re: Report: Rob Gronkowski tore his ACL

Adrian Peterson tore his ACL in late December last year and he is on track for a 1,500 rushing season this year.

Was on track.

Peterson was carted off today too.

Re: Report: Rob Gronkowski tore his ACL

Given how that injury looked, I have no faith that will be the case. Gronk is as tough as they come, but he's still only human.

Peterson tore his ACL and MCL in late Dec 2011 and played every game in 2012.

Re: Report: Rob Gronkowski tore his ACL

In before the whole Gronk is made of glass. Every single NFL player would have their knee blown out on that hit

Huh? A torn ACL is a torn ACL. Recent case history shows that a player who tears his ACL in December will be back and ready to play by the preseason.

Peterson's injury looked just as bad as Gronk's. And I didn't see him in The Avengers. So I am assuming he is only human too. And he got over 1700 yards last year after blowing his ACL two years ago in 10 days.

Re: Report: Rob Gronkowski tore his ACL

Well that sucks, but if we learned anything today (and over the season) it's to never count this team out. It's been "next man up" all season, so they just gotta overcome this as well.

TBS, McD is going to have to get real creative now, and I think they're going to have to change the offense and hope they can pound other teams in the running game. Brady just doesn't have the horses to continue running this style of offense IMO.

Re: Report: Rob Gronkowski tore his ACL

Somehow, you're going to hear that "injury prone" talk as if it's his fault it happened.

Any player would've gotten their knee shredded on that hit.

Re: Report: Rob Gronkowski tore his ACL

I can't even enjoy the win because of this.

Someone head over to Gillette Stadium pop that guy's head off (whoever hit Gronk low)

The NFL should also be disgusted with themselves. Teams are losing important players, many of them Pro-Bowl worthy, thanks to their pathetic attempt at changing the way the game is played.

Ask ANY player in the league, they would rather have a head/upper body injury than a blown out knee

Upper body, sure; concussion, no.

Re: Report: Rob Gronkowski tore his ACL

After all the flak he received, turns out that Merriweather was right in so many ways.

absolutely. ask any receiver they'd rather get him high.

Re: Report: Rob Gronkowski tore his ACL

Peterson tore his ACL and MCL in late Dec 2011 and played every game in 2012.

And he had an MVP year last year with 1760 rushing yards and 9 TDs less than a year coming off blowing up his knee.

BTW, I screwed up years in my original post.

Re: Report: Rob Gronkowski tore his ACL

Sorry, but that's not true. There are varying degrees of tears.

Hey I hope I'm wrong. But I predict next year begins for Gronk the way this year did. General uncertainty with week-to-week status.

Re: Report: Rob Gronkowski tore his ACL

Hopefully Gronk makes a full comeback. Even if he does the Pats have to prioritize a Gronk replacement this offseason.

Re: Report: Rob Gronkowski tore his ACL

Anytime someone is carted off the field, i assume he's gone for the year. Now what?? who else are we gonna lose this year??there is still plenty more games to come.:(

Re: Report: Rob Gronkowski tore his ACL

That is just excuses for dirty play. The NFL only made headshots illegal. There is still all the area between the shoulders and the knees where one can tackle. Shoulder charging right into the knee? Shameful, shameful stuff. No rules can excuse that kind of ****.

No! An ACL tear is an ACL. The treatment for any ACL tear is the same and it is a complete replacement. The only difference is how much swelling there is because they cannot do the surgery until the swelling is subsided. So if Gronk has a worse ACL tear, it may mean he has to wait an extra week or two to get the surgery.

This is what the NFL wanted when they legislated high hits out of the game. That's a damn shame. As for Gronk, that looked very ugly. He's more than likely done for the year.

Dirty play by the Browns defender.

Hope Gronk comes back healthy for you guys next year.

Re: Report: Rob Gronkowski tore his ACL

I know I heard clear as day Gronk say "F$%^ing neck". I did see him limping though - pretty badly - hope he's ready for TC.

This forum should call him injury prone

All you guys were ruthlessly destroying amendola when he was getting nicked up on contact with no remorse .

I disagree with the notion of gronk being injury prone , but you guys have to be fair.
