EXCELLENT! One thing we do know for sure, this kid will be tall. I see a future Pats QB in our midsts. Think SP and BB can have some talks with the parents this week and get this thing all buttoned up?

Uh, that's wrong. I can guarantee you 100% that that is incorrect. They can give ultrasounds basically anytime they want.
I think i need to elaborate a little on this one.
They can do binary, pro-active Ultrasounds after 6 weeks.
Any time between the 6 and 20 weeks they can do spectrometer readout ultrasounds which are far more accurate but the negative is the cost.
After the 20 weeks they can recalibrate the manifold for the ultrasound and then do the complete Hydra-Fusion ultrasound
NO no no don't thank me, i'm happy to clear that up.
Carry on Ladies and Gentlemen.
When can they start sending in plays to him? Maybe they can tape some headphones to her belly and pipe through terminology, info on fundamentals, etc. Then when he's born he can hit the ground running.

She is older so she could have had precautionary tests.
Here is the link. It was also mentioned very quickly on Fox & Friends this morning so I did a quick search. She is buying blue blankets, blue clothes and airplane picture frames...Looks like Tom is going to have a son.

I think the OP meant that they can't determine sex from an ultrasound until 20 weeks..............Can't say for sure, I"m not a physician, don't play one on TV and didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Select last night.
absolutely. we saw our twins' first ultrasound when they could only be seen as tiny beating hearts only a couple of weeks after conception. however, an ultrasound in the first trimester is an unreliable (but not impossible) way to determine gender--if the kid holds still long enough and you get "just the right" image you can get lucky and tell the sex, but it has a much higher probability of being correct in the second trimester. the test that she might have had this early in a (reported) three month pregnancy that would permit gender identification with 100% certainty is a Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS), which can be done as early as week 10 or 11. the test basically tests cells from the placenta for genetic abnormalities. amniocentesis can't be done until around week 16.
