We have 7 UDFA's and 2 7th rounders on the team. We expect productions from all of them. This seems a bit unreasonable.
In any case, we'll know more when Gronk comes back. After being a pre-season phenom, Sudfeld is behind Hooman and Mulligan on the depth chart. That decline impresses some of us.
There are many options with regard to Sudfeld. We could waive him (and then to the PS we would hope). We could keep him on the 53, but have him inactive. We could have on the 53 in a minor role. Or we could try him as a move TE opposite Gronk in 2 TE sets.
Yes, much depends on the kid's confidence. IMHO, much more depends on Brady's confidence in him and the coaches' confidence in him.
IN ANY CASE, an UDFA who is active for his first four NFL games is NOT a dud.
Personally, I would probably have him on inactive 53 man roster in some games, and on the active roster in others. Obviously, he could get more reps based on performance.
IMHO, Sudfeld is a better prospect than Beauharnais, and is more likely to be picked up by another team if he is waived.
