Rumor: PatsFans post cap casualties

I'm hoping that the coaching staff will appreciate my versatility. As a chick and a Jew, I could save a roster spot.

Patjew is destined for the waiver wire.

Is this kind of like the long snapper/backup TE role for the PatsFans roster?

This is going to open up some big holes on the bboard roster. Anybody have suggestions for big-name, overpriced, past-their-prime FA acquisitions?

I guess we could go after John Clayton...or maybe Bryant Gumbel.

Patsfans.Com To Be Active in Free Agent Market?

FOXBORO -- Patsfans.Com is rumored to have immediate targets in the free-agent bulletin board market, according to BulletinBoardBulletinBoard.com.

Patsfans has been eyeing several high profile free agents, including LARamsFan, RyanTheColtsFan, and Warhorse. Neither Colts poster could be reached for comment, but LARamsFan released a brief statement.

"I am tickled pink to be UNDER CONSIDERATION of the EVIL EMPIRE!!!! My agent advised me not to talk further FOR LEGAL REASONS," LARF posted Tuesday. "MWAHAHAHAHA IT WORKED," he added enigmatically.

Although the "Visitors Locker Room" on Patsfans is under investigation for tampering, none of the three high-profile free agent posters actually stayed there, and so their signing would not be tainted by the investigation.

In other Patsfans news, PatsfanEuropa standouts MikeTheBrit and GomezCat have been brought in, after showing steady improvement through the 2006 campaign. One high-profile veteran was let go, according to sources, but no source will name him publically.

Turning to the draft, Patsfans scouts have been combing through collegiate bulletin boards, looking for standout posters at both inside and outside slacker, as well as corner slack and offensive innuendo positions. While Patsfans has been characteristically guarded about prospects, Patsfans will likely look for value and versatility from the college programs, valuing post-study and hard work over swagger. Anybody who catches Ian's eye on draft day, however, can expect a gruelling training camp. Just the game breakdown threads can go for dozens of pages, and grown men have torn their own heads off rather than read some of PatsFanInVa's tomes.

Of course, there will be the usual assortment of street free agents available to provide warm bodies in camp, hungry posters a year or two out of college, or who never attended college at all, just looking for a roster spot. While they don't bring a polished pro posting presence, their raw energy toughens up the squad before the real season begins, and they're usually not afraid to hit. The problem comes when injuries set in, and battered egos take their toll.

"It's one thing to have that guy in camp in July," said one moderator. "But developing one that makes the starting roster takes a lot of patience."

Excellent article. :rocker:

Altough Borges and Felger will probably give the the "Riess Award' for sucking up to the organization.

I heard through "league sources" that bamson might be making a comeback and would be available. I say Ian should bring the guy in for a try-out. The guy could easily fill the NEM slot, as well as special teams.;)

Maybe I have just not noticed your post. But, I thought you had gone on IR.

You were one I was going to put out a missing persons alert for. :singing:

Based on his posts, will Keegs be subject to random drug testing?

More like random drug taking, at least until Doctor Digger finds the right balance for his brain chemistry.

Sonofa*****. Just got the following PM.

Hey, Ian wants to see you. Bring your login info.

to support Fgs if you want to contridict the infalibilty of BB and SP go to a rival message board because most here are happy with the work these guys have done.

That would make for a rather boring message board, wouldn't it?

Bull. Show me some posts where people claim BB and SP are infallible. .

Fgssand and Signbabybrady, in this very thread, for instance.

Are you three members of BB/SP's families? Because if you are, then I can understand the ultra-sensitivity. Family loyalty, and all that.

Was questionable with heart-break after the Colts game, but have moved up to probable!
Been lurking, depressed that there'll be no more T-Shirt wallpapers for the next 6mos, game break-downs by Box and Pats1 are on hold, etc, etc. However, Gumby's assertion that 87 is a minority has jolted me from my complacency! Still trying to wrap my little mind around that one!;)

He probably meant minor. ;)

What you guys are missing is that Ian has become a master of spreading around Zoints -- that mysterious new product of the new CBBA (Collective Bulletin Board Agreement) -- via incentive clauses.

For example, while PatsJew says he "can't feed his family on yarmulkes," his contract details tell a different story.

True, he makes bbs veteran minimum in salary, but he's cleverly crafted a system of unlikely-to-be-read incentives payable in zoints (whatever they are,) reputation points, and access to new smilies (shhh.) Those are unlikely-to-be-reads structured to be really very likely, even for him -- if three other people read his post, at least some incentives kick in, which means he earns zoints about half the time he writes something.

Then there are the LTBR incentives, mainly expressed in posting time.

So when you boil it all down, PatsJew is pretty well taken care of. He can talk about "testing the waters" but he's more likely to part the waters, than to go anywhere in free agency.

Guys, it is what it is. I'm just trying to run a messageboard. We'll put the best posters on this board that we can, and I'm not going to talk about the guys who aren't here. I'm just focusing on trying to get this board prepared to be better next week, and that's really all I'm trying to do. You guys can talk about whatever you want.

Written in my best Bill Belichick interpretation

I have to fix that because the Zoints Profile pages aren't loading. That's on my 'to-do-list'.

"Well, we looked at the bulletin board pages, and the dead threads, we looked, we took them apart, you know. And we, there were some things we saw that we did well, but that's, well. And some things we're working on, and that would, you would probably say we're looking at that."

- in my own BB voice

I personally only really got interested in seeing what happened when you clicked "Zoints", having just posted that last post... still drinkin' the kool-aid here.

Patjew is destined for the waiver wire.

Every year they say I will be cut, and every year I'm back performing at a (moderately) high level. Patjew will be the one to choose when it's time for Patjew to walk away.
