Which Pat Had the Worst Performance Against The Eagles?

Tim Tebow,
Luke Patterson,
Tim Tebow
and...
Marquis Cole,
Marquis Cole

No need to be so condescending just because you disagree with me, which I assume you do because my post was clear enough. I think all of the players I mentioned had a bad game against the Eagles and are fairly high on the depth chart, giving them each a good chance at the 53 roster come September.

Define highly on the depth chart.

Because one of either Gregory or Wilson will be gone. With the little I saw i'd say Harmon is a better option than either. At least he seemed to be for the most part in the right place and making hits on receivers at the right time and not after they've already caught and secured the ball.

Ryan is a rookie who will be the 4th or 5th CB on the depth chart. That with more time in the system will get better.

Who do you have in mind that would replace Gostkowski?

Cole if he makes the roster will be an emergency CB. Hell if Justin Green can contribute as well as Cole on special teams he'd make the roster over Cole.

And Tebow just sucks and really shouldn't make this team, although i'm guessing he probably will. Which I think is idiotic and his roster spot could be better used for another CB or DT.

I edited my post to clarify the situation for each player making the team. I personally don't have Gregory, Cole, or Tebow making my projected roster, but lots of people on this forum think they will.

It's true that it was Ryan's first time seeing NFL game action, but that doesn't change my observation that he was one of the worst Patriots on the field for that one game. Doesn't mean he can't or won't improve.

I don't have any idea who could replace Gostkowski, but I do think it was wrong of the team not to bring in competition earlier in the offseason. He's making elite kicker money and he's clearly not elite.

This is supposed to be good news?

BTW, I would think that Dobson was considered worth the pick at the time, even we had our own favorites.

Never said it was good or bad, just that it was. :confused2:

By most accounts, there were a number of WRs available who were rated over Dobson.

No chance. I'm rewatching the game right now and Cole is playing markedly better than Green.

Tebow: third QB, plenty of teams carry three quarterbacks so he could easily make the team.

Ryan: lock as a third round rookie.

Cole: possibly the guy who makes the team if Dowling doesn't, possibly even if he does.

Gregory: one of the top safeties on the depth chart.

T. Wilson: second round pick last year who performed too well last year to give up on him because of a bad preseason.

Gostkowski: the only kicker on the roster.

Whether or not you think these players had a bad game is just your opinion.

I wasn't expressing confusion with your writing, but rather incredulity at your argument. I don't know why the team would/should feel bad at the prospect of core special teamers/depth/rookies making the final 53. Makes no sense at all.

I vote for Logan Ryan.

I watched #26 each play he was in there. He made one decent tackle, but for the life of me, I have no idea what he is doing as a 3rd round draft pick of the Patriots. Can someone please tell me what Belichick saw in this guy? (other than his alma mater).

Newark to Logan is a really cheap flight :plane:

I as much as I agree that Ryan was less than impressive being that he is a rookie I give him a slight pass; I give my vote to T. Wilson because he is a 2nd year player and was taken with a higher draft choice. Also because I spent the weeks leading up to this last game defending Wilson and he (although not overly difficult to do) look like an idiot  with his performance on Friday.

Tim Tebow.

As much as Tebow played poorly and make no mistake about it he did, to make him your pick would imply that you had an expectation of him playing well and contributing to the team this season. I personally saw him as just a camp arm that gives our difference a different type of quarterback to defend against than Brady and Mallett who are pocket quarterbacks. Taking that into consideration I think Tebow did a great job of going out on the field after Brady left the game and Mallett was injured and taking all the hits that I wouldn’t want within 5 miles of Tom Brady.

Oh, so you just took my last sentence far too literally.

Clearly you missed my point.

Clearly. Mind if I ask what you are saying here, then?

Hell if Justin Green can contribute as well as Cole on special teams he'd make the roster over Cole.

Doesn't this mean that Green would beat out Cole for a roster spot of both are equal at special teams? If so, I can assure you that it isn't the case, Green might have been the worst defender who set foot on the field for NE. Cole was actually pretty good, for a scrub.

If that isn't what you meant, then I haven't a clue what you were trying to say. :confused4:

It wasn't exactly ambiguous; how else was that supposed to be interpreted? The team should feel bad but not that bad because these types of players stick on every roster?

I would like to see how Logan Ryan performs with our Starters before I cast judgement. Atleast he's not a waste of space like Glass-I Dowling.

I suppose you could also argue that at least he made it onto the field, unlike 'sicknote'.

I was gonna try to choose another player not named Tim Tebow, but I couldn't...

I disagree, but I know the delusional Draftniks liked a couple of unreformed Jailbirds, and a couple of smurfs, better. But we don't need any more of them. The quota is full up.

Belichick would rather have low maintenance, team captains, and Eagle scouts if you don't mind... and even if they do.

You're responding as if I have an opinion either way, which I don't. The initial quote was:

Can someone please tell me what Belichick saw in this guy?

And I was simply pointing out that Ryan was a guy that most people liked, it wasn't just Bill.

I thought Cole was one of the better defensive players for the Patriots on Friday night. He was sharp, always in position and made a couple perfect reach around slap downs.

The worst might have been the 5th and 6th string OG that came in after Svitek was finished for the day. Now that Connolly and Green are back. perhaps they cane be cut. I think that they were signed last week.

3. Tavon Wilson
2. Steve Gregory
1. Tim Tebow

Quite concerning that 2 of the 3 are DBs that are probably up towards the top of the depth chart, Logan Ryan & Maquice Cole just miss out on making the list.

Reverse that order and this is my vote.

Cole's awful play is one of those weird group-think phenomenon around here like area 51 or something. It's all based on anger that the guy who was like, 5th on our depth chart couldn't keep up with Bolden in the AFCCG.

Cole was in good position most of the night on Friday.
