Patriots' Training Camp Day 3 (Sunday July 28)

And it seems to me that you make Forrest Gump look like a freaking Mensa member.

Case in point. You are harping on the difference between "observations" and "assessments", asking if I know the difference between the two. You take pains to point out that all those statements were "observations" asking if I know the difference between the two. The implication here is that I called those "observations" "assessments".

here's the only occurrence of me using the word assessment:

Holy smokes Batman. The only thing I referred to as an "assessment" was Deus's actual "assessment".

Looks like you screwed the pooch there cupcake. Perhaps you should stop trying to ASSESS my intelligence and instead focus on some basic reading comprehension.

Another fine example of Demos not only being a moron but being a troll.

Here is the quote I was replying to:

This is just his negativity because the Pats didn't sign Welker. Go look at the Aaron Dobson thread where he says that the Pats get an F for letting Welker go and that grade is final and no longer debatable even if we find out this year they were right to let him go because he hit the age wall like many other veterans the Pats have let go at the right time.

Even the reports you point to are weak arguments for mixed reports. So one report said Dobson was good, but had a few hiccups. How is that a mixed reviews? It is a positive review. What rookie WR in his first three days in training camp in a new system doesn't have a few hiccups.

Yet another one of the quotes you highlighted said Dobson didn't have his best day, but he is smooth and making it look easy. How is that a mixed review. So it was his worst day of his first three days, but still playing well. Another positive review.

And again, two of the other ones you highlighted spoke of the one drill we are talking about.

So you took two reviews that were fairly positive and spun it to a mixed review. Again, other than reports of that one drill in question. The reviews of Dobson have been near universally positive.

Mixed reviews would be some reports stating that Dobson is struggling while other say he is plsying well. Every report on him other than one drill clearly states he is playing well. They may not say there isn't room for improvement. But other than that one drill, no one has produced a single remotely negative review of the guy.

Rob, I guess you and I are just reading the "reports" differently to some extent.

Dobson and Amendola have been good, but had some hiccups

I.e. they were good overall, but they had some problems today as opposed to doing everything well.

Michael Jenkins, Kamar Aiken, Kyle Arrington impressed in CB-WR 1 on 1s. Dobson, Dowling... Not so much.

Dobson didn't look good here.

While Amendola and Dobson didn't have their best day, they are so smooth and make it look easy

This one is mixed. Both guys look graceful/natural. I.e. it's easy for them. BUT, they didn't have their best days, meaning that mistakes were made or they didn't fare as well as they could have.

Dobson couldn't get off the press in 1 on 1s. Struggled big time in that drill. Didn't have much of a wiggle at the line. Wasn't physical.

Self explanatory.

Another thing that is probably causing an issue is that I think you are reading too much into what was said. No one is claiming that Dobson sucks based on those reports or how he's done so far. No one is even claiming that he should be further along even as a rookie in day 3 of camp.

Let's look at your last statement:

But other than that one drill, no one has produced a single remotely negative review of the guy

You are basically taking the position that reviews can only be one of two things, positive or negative. There's a much wider spectrum. Even when all reviews are generally positive, there can still be some variation. It's like when you took tests in school. Usually, it's not just Pass/Fail. You might do well on a test and get a B, or very well and get an A, or extremely well and get an A+.

Seems that some have given Dobson an A or A+ today while others gave him a B+ or an A-.

Re: Video: Patriots' Training Camp Day 3 (Sunday July 28)

Video from Patriots Camp 2013, Day 3.

I'll leave the commentary to those who know a little about football. I enjoy watching it, and hope you enjoy watching this.

Not really up to par with the quality of past years as the lighting was tough and the last 6 minutes was shot with my cell phone as my camera battery crapped out pretty early. Still, if you were wishing you were there today you might find a few minutes in this to be of interest.

Thanks a lot for this - Hooman looked great. I know its a small sample but Dobson looks like he needs to compete for the ball a bit more

Do go back to the Zimmerman/Martin, Obama, the Codeine and the 'God Bless Racist America' threads that you have been on over the last month.

That is probably where you belong.

jesus, you are too dense to even realize that the post you cited definitively demonstrated that you are indeed clueless.

You claimed that I called all those "reports" assessments and then prattled on about me not knowing the difference.

Fact is, I did not call those "reports" assessments. The only thing I called an assessment was in fact, Deus's assessment.

Oh - ok, Deus's assessment that the reports were what again? ******* moron.

Do yourself a favor. Deus may have 35,000 posts and it means nada. You clearly missed the posts on his assessment of the Patriots off-season.

Have a good night troll.

I'd love to know what kind of drugs you are on. You want to say that Flutie was a better Pro QB, I'd agree at this point. But to claim that Flutie was a better Heisman QB? Are you serious? - Tebow was not the better college quarterback and that was by a long shot.

If you think that Flutie was a better college QB than Tebow, whether comparing entire college careers or just their respective Heisman seasons, then you have absolutely no understanding of, or knowledge of the game of football.

I will answer this and be done. I don't think that if Dobson's spectrum of grades to day vary from an B+ to an A+ that he got mixed reviews. If he got mixed reviews today, there would be people giving Cs, C+s, and B-s. That would make mixed reviews. it isn't pass fail, but if Dobson is getting universal grades of B+ and higher his reviews are anything but mixed.

As for the quotes, we all agree he struggled in one particular drill today. That is attributed to two of the reviews you highlighted. So I will not be labor them.

The other two quotes are first quotes with no context first of all. When the person said that "Amendola and Dobson didn't have their best day", I take it that today wasn't as good as the previous two. Doesn't make it a bad day necessarily (while the rest of the quote states otherwise), but it might be a bit of a down day for them from the previous two. Without more context, you have a hard time arguing that the reviewer had a remotely negative view of Dobson's performance.

Also, I look at "a few hiccups" as that he may have dropped a ball or two. A few hiccups are usually a few minor errors. I don't think that turns it into a positive review.

Sorry, I want to drop this subject, but I felt your post deserved a response and not just left hanging.

Is there anywhere I can see the PUP list?

Rob - Demos doesn't even know what the difference is between an observation and assessment. This is par for the course with him. As far as I am concerned, if someone wrote two statements and they are different, then Demos would call it an assessment. He is a Tebow troll and fittingly so.
Chill out man. Grab yourself a bottle of vodka and watch Bo Derek parade around in a swimsuit for a little.

Probably a pretty good idea for you to tuck your tail and run after the beating you just took sunshine.

While you are gone, you might want to check out a couple of books that would be beneficial for you.

Rob,

Fair enough (and thanks for the reply). I get what you are saying. We just disagree to a small extent on whether the reviews were "mixed".

Re: Video: Patriots' Training Camp Day 3 (Sunday July 28)

I think Dobson competed for the ball very well, i though he had very good body control. I think his timing was off on his jumps, but that I blame on it being early.

Run along little one, it's past your bedtime.

"Tebow was the #2 in NY, why would he go to the coaches and say "Hey, let me work out with and become a TE"? That said, there were times when he did line up as TE, so one would expect that they worked him at it. Then again, it was the Jets, so maybe they just threw him out there and said "do something"."

So he was either the #2 quarterback and lost that job to Greg McElroy or he was never the #2 quarterback in New York because he could not beat McElroy in practice.

Another fine example of Demos the Troll. I guess, in your opinion, Rex Ryan did what you suggested and just "threw him out there and said 'do something'."

On the topic of Tebow; my shocking moment of the preseason prediction is. drum roll please, when Tebow is cut for going to visit Aaron Hernandez in jail in an attempt to cleanse him of his sins and help him find god .

He won't have to - He has Demos to do that for him.
