He really showed up well against Michigan. He has a lot of heart. As for a quick 1 game evaluation:

The instincts looked decent and he definately can tackle. He was on a few specialteams, that has to be a plus.

The two problems that stood out in my mind.

First he looked terrible in coverage. Second I can't tell from one game, but I didn't see great speed from him.

Always like your critiques of individual players. Very subjective. A nice cold eye.

Coverage can be taught. Also, Tedy B. is no speed demon. But if he has some instinct and undeniable intangibles then keep him on the radar........we need serious LB help in the very near future.

Thanks Clonamery for the complement on the evaluation.

I agree, coverage can be taught. And don't get me wrong, I'm not ruling this guy out by any stretch of the imagination. Overall I like him, if nothing else he proved he can play special teams on the next level.

One thing I want to add is that coaches can't teach heart and desire and passion and a guy like this has that, and that is a plus in my book.

All I want to know is if he talks with as big an accent as Jermaine Wiggins. If so sign him up.

I want Jermaine Wiggins to get every role in Hollywood that calls for a Boston accent. I'm tired of the phonies. Very insulting.

Let's see what goes on with Scorcese's 'The Departed.'

Talking LBs...Boise State kid, Hall #25, was all over the field making plays in the Oregon State game. The way he was moving he's probably under 240, but he looked good on Special Teams, picked off a pass sliding underneath the receiver, busted up a screen, etc. He's a four year starter if I understood the announcers correctly. If I wasn't so lazy I'd check out their roster for his details...

He's too small at 6'1 228lbs for LB in the NFL....weight gain needed. But I've watched him the last two years on that dang blue field.

The size is surely a problem, I imagine the Tampa 2 teams will rate him higher then the Pats, who would probably see him as more of a Special Teams role player. Thanks for being less lazy than I! :D

im assuming hes staying in school as he was hurt most of this yr

Goff is a great player..could've been a first rounder with good workouts. but hes staying

I really liked Goff. I saw him in the Georgia game and he looked very good. Nees work on coverage, but his game is coming along well.

What are chances a kid this size could be converted to SS?

I'm thinking very slim. He is clearly more comfortable near the line of scrimage and moving forward.

I was about to say at 235 lbs, Goff would need to gain some weight to become a consideration. After watching the clip though, what strikes me about Goff is that his body build is very wide and he looks HUGE. He definitely looks like he has the kind of body type that could put more weight on easily.

Now if Goff's skills, smarts, and speed go along with the physical package, I think he could make someone a very nice 3rd round pick, (maybe with the Pats early 3rd rounder we got from the Raiders?)

Don't forget guys that Bruschi was only a 3rd round pick, but he's turned out pretty well for us.
I think I'm beginning to like this Goff kid in the 3rd.
