Yeah, and other than starting WW II and murdering countless millions, Adolf Hitler was a pretty good guy.

And, hey, if you go with Deus Irae's logic, that wasn't even really a crime, since war crimes are one of the most rare and seldomly-prosecuted charges that can be brought!

Everybody knows crimes aren't really crimes if the victim doesn't pursue it! :D

Or you win, because then you write the history books in you favor :) Not to get off topic, but if Hitler would have won he would be seen as a hero later. That always has to remembered when looking at history, and unfortunately legal, be very objective.

That's not the logic I used, at all, since I never denied anything as a crime. I was responding to your claim by asking you about the number of successful cases from the NHL and NFL in the last 10 years:

How many successful suits over a punch have been filed by top level (NFL/NHL) football players and hockey players in the last 10 years?

As a matter of fact, I specifically answered your question which was directly on point to your comment in this post:

I'm sorry, I'm not understanding you. You're basing the validity of a law on the number of cases brought?
No. I'm asking you about NFL or NHL lawsuits that have been successful in the past 10 seasons based upon a simple punch, as opposed to a Marty McSorley in Canada situation.

If you're going to be a smartass, you probably shouldn't do it about something that's been specifically refuted in the same thread. That just makes you look like foolish.

Hey everyone, it's that whining douchebag Mike Florio and he just wrote another terrible article.

Pamphilon should release his contract with Gleason | ProFootballTalk

There was a 20 minute dust up/pissing match on twitter yesterday that was classic. All the ADHD mediots from NFLN and PFT suddenly intent on shifting focus onto an issue that has no bearing on the matter at hand and of all people Borges mopped twitter's floor with them on it. Neither the filmakers motivation nor his contract with his apparently pro bono client has anything to do with anything that should be any of the media's business or concern. And they wonder why we call them mediots.

He really embarassed Breer and LaCanfora. Called Scoop Breer out in particular for taking issue with Pamphilon potentially being a self promoter... Damn them for enabling Ron look like the voice of actual, you know, journalistic reason...while chiming in from The Masters...

So many mediots today suffer like Breer and Florio from smartest guy in the room syndrome. The way they digresss reminds me a lot of the way thread hijacks here constantly muddy the waters.

I didnt realize you had access?

I don't. I must just be psychic.

As for the idea that what Williams said was standard for NFL locker rooms, Kluwe took issue with that.

“I see a lot of people asking about the context of the Gregg Williams audio clip as it relates to how other teams talk,” Kluwe wrote. “I will enlighten! 90% of what he said was standard rah rah motivational stuff. Hit guys hard, get him going sideways, etc.; all fine and heard before. The part that is an issue is the other 10%, where he specifically talks about targeting ACL’s, twisting guys’ ankles in the pile, and trying to hit a concussion victim in the head again. That’s why Goodell has to come down so hard on this; you don’t want that spreading.”

I think I'll tweet this to Ocho since he made a complete ass of himself yesterday tweeting that what Williams said was all no big deal because he's heard worse in inner city leagues. I'd link to his tweets but he cleaned up his timeline as he apparently can after getting into some nasty profanity laced exchanges with irate fans who probably unfollowed his ass as a result...

Chris Kluwe, Visanthe Shiancoe go off on Gregg Williams | ProFootballTalk

If anyone has ocean front property in Nebraska, Mo looks like a buyer.

A film producer selectively releasing audio right in the middle of a story can't be a self promoter......he's a true patriot.

Again,

Look at the game tape.

Where were ACL's targeted?

Where was the punative action for failure to adhere to this official policy?

Somewhere Brandon Meriweather must be mad because apparently one franchise has zero problem with players "free lancing".

I can definitively say, particularly since I'm in a similar field as this guy, that the filmmaker had nothing real to gain and a lot to lose by releasing the tape.

If anything, he's risking his reputation and future access to locker rooms by doing this.

I'm sorry but the guy is a hero for releasing the tape. frankly if the nfl had it and held it out of the press there should be an investigation. better aired now than in a court room in one of the many lawsuits where players are suing the NFL, because you know they have tape and first hand knowledge of coaches saying such things.

The only thing i don't get is why payton, the gm, and the other coach aren't also suspended indefinitely, there is zero chance they did not know what was going on. not to mention all the saints players. If I was gooddell and I really wanted to make a statement the entire saints team would be suspended for the whole year.

ron borges must have forgot his piece of garbage character for an hour. This has to be a sign of the apocolypse.

hmmm..many glass houses in the NFL. Goodell and the NFL could have stopped this long before, and knew many DC where doing this. They created a culture to hurt players, and never gave a damn about it until the player lawsuits started eating into their profits. This never should never have been allowed to continue. Its going to be equally embarrassing for teams fans to hear their DC speeches released. Well maybe not philly.
But, their is no way the NFL will investigate the league, because they already know.

We deserve to be be punished, but don't throw the rocks just yet.

i'll be the first in line to throw rocks at my own team's house if proof comes out

having marty schottenheimer as a head coach i already pretty much assume they had a bounty program.....but i do need proof

I think it will come, and Ill defend you when it does. I found our problems to be much more wide spread when I looked into them. What GW did was horrible, but Im very confident that NFL and Goodell was aware of this long before it started to cost them money. They knew DC were doing this, and wouldn't stop it. Im sure Goodell and the NFL knew the Saints and Colts DC's where spewing this kind of sewage before the SB in the locker rooms.

Again there is a HUGE difference between having a players' pool for achieving a football goal, like a score or turnover, and putting a bounty on another player. Its OK to try and put a beating on someone. Its OK to try and establish a physical dominance on another team. It is NOT OK to attempt to injure someone by attacking his ACL, or head.

Williams should never be allowed to coach again in the NFL. I can't image how a HS or College would let him lead impressionable young men. He is done as a coach...or at least should be.

.

Also thrown in the fact that in addition to encouraging attempted murder, Williams also lied to the league, thumbed his nose at their rules, and cheated the salary cap.

I'd say the Saints got off pretty light all things considered.
