For all of those that complained about how cruel and heartless it was for the Pats to cut Tiquan Underwood, or were concerned that another team would sign him, here you go.

BostonHerald.com - Blogs: Rap Sheet » The Patriots have re-signed WR Tiquan Underwood for 2012

The Patriots created some major waves on the night before their Super Bowl XLVI loss to the Giants. They released WR Tiquan Underwood, for reasons that were not disciplinary. The word was that they needed defensive line depth, and they promoted DE Alex Silvestro to great public outcry.

Now, I am told, Underwood will be back.

The team will announce a list of some futures contracts for 2012 later today, and Underwood will be on it. That was what the thought process was when he was released, and now it’s reality.

Underwood, who caught only three passes for 30 yards, became a sympathetic figure with the release, considering the cruel timing. He handled things with class, saying he understood and that he’d use it as motivation.

Nice to see it all work out for him… but it still sucks about the Super Bowl. Oh, and it’s great for beat reporters who celebrate the best hair in the NFL.

While Rapoport (and others) beat the drum that it was so "cruel" to cut Underwood before the Super Bowl, I have yet to see he or one of his colleagues offer an alternative. With Gronkowski's injury Silvestro was needed to take Gronk's place on special teams. Somebody had to be cut to make room for Silvestro, so therefore somebody had to be cut. But hey, there's no point in letting important details like that get in the way of a gossipy attention-grabbing headline.

Patriots have signed LB Markell Carter, WR Britt Davis, OL Matt Kopa, DE Aaron Lavarias, LB Mike Rivera, WR Tiquan Underwood and DB Ross Ventrone to future contracts today

Don't let these facts get in the way of the usual hysteria.. nice analysis.

I expected this to happen, give him a chance.. he might help.

May aswell book the hotels for February next year!

Cutting Underwood was stupid. I did not see Silverstro out there for one minute, not even on special teams.
Bad karma I thought it was.

Heartless bastards.

Awesome. Now he gets to not go to the White House with the rest of the team. :(
