Remember when we used to own the Colts and beat them every time we faced them? It seemed no matter how hard they tried or what gameplans they game up with, they'd just blow it. I remember Willie McGinest being asked on Sportscenter one time "Will Peyton ever win in Foxboro?" and he laughed and said "Not as long as I'm a member of the team." The Pats knew they had their number.

You have douchebags like that Pierre guy on the Giants guaranteeing wins against the Packers, and whoever else (may have been him) saying "we knew we'd win" after this year's game.

In 07 it was a lot different. Pats were getting all the publicity...someone was already writing a 19-0 book...the only people picking against the Pats were the typical haters like Tom Jackson, but everyone else was saying it would be a blowout. Even Troy Brown admitted earlier this year that the team thought they'd just walk in there and win.

Could the Giants be like that this year? Like "We own Brady, their defense svcks" etc..

We know the Pats are taking nothing for granted. Brady and Belichick and the leaders like Wilfork know what's on the line and will prepare well.

If this is accurate and the Giants are douchebags, will that play into our favor at all or not matter come gametime?

The giants are definitely going to be confident. Particularly eli manning, he knows he will be able to shred our defense to pieces

The Giants have a great deal of confidence, just in general. They always think they will win, at least over the past month or so.

But, I doubt they're taking the Pats that lightly. They know what it must mean for Brady & BB to have this shot. It's probably not the matchup they wanted....

To a certain degree, yes, the Giants will be overconfident IMO.

I wish they were,

Overconfident, completely delusional and bragging of their greatness in front of media cameras everywhere.

to be honest, most people ive talked to are really down on us in this game...talking to co-workers pretty much what I gather everyone thinks is

-brady is going to get destroyed
-their WR's are going to run all over us.

now, personally I think its going to be a tough game. But I dont think the Giants are as unstoppable as everyone is making them seem...but im fine with it. I like being the under-dogs. pretty much everyone I know picked the ravens as well..

I don't think they'll be overconfident, because they were on the brink of elimination not too long ago.

It's early yet. Somebody will say something stupid, bank on it. But I think there is a very real possibility the Giants will be at least slightly overconfident by gametime. Most of the mediots will pick them and public sentiment will be (dramatically) behind them as the Pats are generally hated by all. There is also the perception that the Pats are just lucky to be there while the Giants punched their way in. And most importantly, they've won the last 2 games and probably think they have NE's number, which they may indeed have but will have to be proven yet again.

Some of the veterans like Tuck and Manning will say the right things. But the Giants have a lot of new players that didn't play in 2007. They've beat us this year and they're being hyped up.

One of them, probably one of the younger players, will slip up.

It will be Antrel Rolle.

Could? This is a NY team there is no question.

It will be Antrel Rolle.

I can see that.

Personally, I'm hoping they all go out on town the night before and whoop it up and have some massive hangovers come game time.

Probably not gonna happen, but I can dream, anyway. :)

I think they will be overconfident, but they have some semblence of a reason to be vs this team.

They beat them on the biggest stage, and were the only team that yr to do the "impossible." That has to give them a lot of confidence. Much has been said about the fact that they 'only' have 18 players on the team from that yr still, but that is still 1/3, and many of the core vets are still there.

The next game was the only time the Pats have lost at home with Brady at the helm since 2006 in the regular season. After that game, the Pats started on another home streak, so they have likely won about 35 out of the last 36 (approx. give or take a game) games that Brady has started at home.

Those 2 games were huge, and proved that the Giants can indeed, beat this team no matter what the circumstances.

I do think they'll be overconfident, but on some level you would assume that just about any team would likely feel the same way.

I don't see Brady and BB losing to the same team 3x in a row, but they'd better have an incredible 2 weeks of practice, a great gameplan, and great execution. The NYG are a pain in the butt.

They still have a good number of guys from that title team so I would say no. Those guys know how to win. However I still think we are the hungrier team especially guys like Brady/Light/Mankins/Wilfork. Which is why I'm hopeful we win in the trenches and in the QB battle, the 2 most important facets of the game.
