Bring on the Ravens

I'm not saying Brady can't have a stinker. In fact I stated that as one of the keys for your team to win. If Brady is on I don't care what your offense does you will lose. You need for Brady to be off and Rice to have a big day. If both don't happen it is a blowout, if one happens it will be a close game.

Historically, we've been able to contain Brady very well.

1 TD and 2 picks last year.
1 TD and 0 picks in 2009 (regular season).
2 TD and 3 INT in that playoff game, as well as 54% completion.
2 TD and 1 INT in 2007, with a 47.4% completion.

So 6 TD and 6 INT in our last 4 games. Looks like Flacco isnt the only one who is "mediocre" against great defenses, eh?

But guess what?
That means nothing come Sunday.

Because you clearly dont know what you're talking about. You can name 3 defensive players that qualifies the whole unit as being old

S Zbikowski, Tom - 26
S Reed, Ed -33
S Pollard, Bernard - 27
S Nakamura, Haruki - 25
CB Lardarius Webb - 26
CB Cary Williams - 27
CB Jimmy Smith - 23
CB Chris Carr - 28
CB Danny Gorrer - 25
CB Chykie Brown - 25
DT Terrence Cody - 23
DT Haloti Ngata - 28
DT Brandon McKinney - 28
DE Pernell McFee- 23
LB Ray Lewis - 36
LB Terrell Suggs - 29
LB Jameel McClain - 26
LB Jarrett Johnson - 30
LB/DE Paul Kruger - 25
LB Dannell Ellerbe - 25

it's the fact that your best players on D, Ray Lewis (36) and Reed (33) are old. Those guys make your D what it is.

Suggs and Ngata are the two best players on the team at the moment.

In case you haven't figured it out yet, a lot of these guys expect you to know the PATS inside and out, because after all, they won a few SB 10 years ago and that's all that really matters...

Nope, not suggesting Flacco is in Brady's class. What I was saying is that when you face a great defense and great running team this time of year, it would be foolish to be anything but cautiously optimistic.

As a Pats fan (see 2007 Super Bowl, our game in 2009 playoffs), you should already know that.

that's why he said that he was CAUTIOUSLY optimistic. In other words he's confident but not over confident. We have reason to feel good but not necessarily 100% sure we're going to win. The pats are playing the best they have all season. The Ravens are not. Does that mean we will win? No, on any given sunday....

Suggs is a front runner for DPOY. I'd consider that being in his prime.

How is winning a DPOY going to help him from getting gashed by the hurry up we are certain to run come Sunday?

Suggs is up for DPOY, and so was Ngata til he got hurt. Neither Ray or Reed is in the discussion this year.
Those two are every bit as important as Ray and Ed.

because....reed and lewis are old.

so you are telling me that those two guys don't count? you take them off your team, and this becomes the worst defense in the league next to GB's.

Contain Brady very well? You've only won ONCE against us. That's a ridiculous statement to make.

Its a perception. The fact is that Lewis and Reed are the faces folks around the country identify as the leaders/playmakers on the BAL defense. Its a fact that they are a bit long in the tooth.

Look at the 07 Pats defense. Vrabes, Harrison, Bru and Seau were all over 32 and who folks identified with as the leaders of the D.

I said nothing of the sort. You said Reed and Lewis were our best defenders, right? I disagree. I mean all-time, yeah. Sunday, no. I have every intention of being a reasonable poster but please don't put words in my mouth again.

As has been said before the key playmakers on your team are over the hill. Also the age average of the defense on your team isn't middle of the pack, it's near the top.

That's a joke. When Ray was out for a few weeks, people were excited at how our defense proceeded to sack SFO nine times in our win over them, and how our defense looked even better without Ray in there.

That's not to say that our defense is better without him, but there is far more talent on this defense than you realise.

Yeah, and you guys won yours way before that. Way back in the year 2000.

dude give up. That's all these drama queens know how to do.

So now you are making threats?

Well, over the past few years they have been your best defenders. Your D couldn't even pressure one of the worst QBs in the league last week.

Drama queens? You guys are the ones who barged in here and started dishing out. What you dish out is what you get back. If you wanted to discuss pure football, you would get interesting, intelligent discussions.
