Bruschi to Ochocinco: 'Join the system, buddy'

It's pretty freakin' obvious. I'm really shocked at how some people apologize, excuse, or just disregard what is in front of them to see.

And I'm still waiting for someone on your side of the argument to tell me who Ocho is going to replace on the field in a 2-TE formation. You're running a hurry up offense with only 2 WR on the field, and you want to replace Branch or Welker (who have enough years to share a brain with Tom Brady) with Ocho in week one?

If this is still the case in week six, I'll write the guy off. The expectations for instant gratification amongst some of you is staggering.

No. I'm not. And even the definition says I'm not. Because I am not delving into he's unconcious psychological processes. And telling yourself otherwise is just foolishness on your part, Jack.

*lol* Sorry, Jack. But it doesn't confirm anything you've said. I am taking the entirety of what Chad said and using the meanings of the words to come to my conclusion. That is NOT divining anything. It's taking the words at face value. And I have not said word one about Chad's production on the field. That is your conjecture.

Really? Where'd you get awestruck from?

What's Edelman up to? Still sleeping? Keep us posted

Edelman went to see the flick "Warrior" according to his Facebook posts. He liked it. Next up, he reviews "The Help".

Watching him. People make him out to be an older Larry Fitzgerald - he was never a young Fitzgerald in the first place. He does great TD celebrations though ;)

No basically nothing. I figured.

When is BB going to cut him?

Chris Price just tweeted that he talked to Christian Fauria a couple weeks back and that Fauria said basically the same thing about Chad.

So, we've got 3 former Patriots (Fauria, Harrison, Bruschi) who have said that Chad needs to get get with the program.

But, all you Chad supporters are right... Chad is doing everything he can..

As grateful as I am to those three guys for their contributions to the Patriots, every team has its own personality. If (big "If") these reports are true, then I think this is a case of players who want things to stay the same and be the way they were "back in the day."

Belichick's system is tough, but it's not rigid and it has evolved with his players.

So far, according to all reports, Ochocinco is adhering to the basic rule of the Bill Belichick system: "show up, work hard, learn your job and do your job." That's what Brady says he is doing. That's what Coach says he is doing. That's good enough for me. He did break one of BB's other rules, "Keep your mouth shut." But, I'll give him a pass if he doesn't do it again on the grounds that old habits die hard.

I'm no big enthusiastic fan of 85 and, to be honest, wasn't among those who fawned when he joined the team, but now he's on the Patriots and, as long as the two guys who count the most say he's with the program, I'm behind him. I'll turn on Chad in a nanosecond if I think anything else is going on.

Awestruck = to be in awe of.

Helps if you understand the definitions, Jack.

I know this is your routine and all, but spare me the condescension. Thanks.

You're the one who claimed he was awestruck, even though numerous other players expressed more-or-less the same sentiment. So I'm not sure how you're supporting your claim that being awestruck precludes one's ability to focus. All of which you are interpreting from a tweet. I suppose we should also conclude that Brandon Spikes is about to jump off a bridge.

Um.....Slater?

You are entitled to your opinions, and I am entitled to mine. I gave you my reasons, and they are not good enough for you. Whatever. Keep on keeping on. Remember this though: I actually hope I am wrong and you are right about this.

he really is not. I see the main motive of starting a FIRE underneath 85 and I surmise that was the primary agenda of this article. I really bet Teddy wrote this b/c of a BB coment and or Bruschi REALLY cares for his Red, White and Blue and Teddy is calling out 85 a guy that is under performing. Ocho does need to stay out of the Twitter headlines.

Ocho my man. You said you were in Heaven and if you want to be a Guardian Angel here in NE you gotta step it up and get at it.

His method of approach here comes off, as if he has a problem with #85, and that he is using twitter as an excuse to rip into him. Sure Chad is twitter lover, but that doesn't mean he's not working his butt off, and trying to learn the playbook. He needs to cut the guy a little slack. Hopefully #85 will get grounded in the offense, as I believe in time he will.
I'm a big fan of Tedy, but I am not on his side on this one.

I just don't understand your logic. Ocho was a very good receiver for many years on a crappy team with a subpar quarterback. Yet you have deemed him more hype than substance by watching him on the field.

Don't understand where you're coming from on that one.

You know what? I just read Price's article on Fauria's comments and they were excellent. It is here: patriots - Hard for new guys to grasp Patriots passing attack - WEEI | Christopher Price

Much more informative that what Tedy had to say. I would have been much more inclined to have listened to him if he said it like that. It wasn't a criticism as much as it was an explanation of what goes into learning the system. Then again that doesn't get as much attention.

Chad may or may not be putting the right amount of time to be learning this offense. But at this point, the only ones that know that are the players on the team and they aren't speaking. For us fans all we can do is wait and see. I am certainly not about to pass judgment based on one or even a hundred tweets.

Awwwww.... it's Tedy's first manufactured controversy!

He's now a real member of the ESPN media family! Our little baby's all gwowsed up!

Re: Bruschi slams ocho

Rank idiocy.

Bruschi isn't a player anymore; he's a member of the all-too-large sports media. Remember the days when it was a sports journalist's job to report on the game? Not anymore. It's their - his - job to create controversy, fill a 24-hour sports news cycle, and get page hits / viewers / listeners. So he takes aim at an easy target and lets loose. Bravo. Hacky hit-job successful, it seems.

And let's take a closer look at this 'controversy', shall we? Everyone - Coach, Brady - says that Ocho has been working his ass off. No minicamp, no playbook, etc etc - it's all been said before. First game, he's used MUCH less than everyone (no doubt including Ocho himself) expects. Does he whine? Complain? Question? No, he gets back to Boston and expresses excitement at his team's performance. What as *&^$$%*(, right?

You don't think this guy just wants to blow the ^%$& up and show all the doubters and haters they are wrong? You don't think he's working his ass off so he can shine on the biggest stage he's ever seen?

All the Ocho hate is disappointing, but it isn't surprising. Fans, just like the sports media, always need something to whine about.

Chad? Is that you?:p

I still kind of consider Bruschi as part of the team. He isn't technically still part of the team but he's obviously still a huge supporter of the team and you know he's always rooting for them. He knows what it's like to be a Patriot and he wants Chad (a player who has the potential to be a huge part of this offense) to succeed and work in the system.

Dude couldn't even line up properly, and wiped out a big Gronk play. Hope he shapes up.

Um.....Slater?

Clearly you didn't read what I wrote. In a 2-TE set (which is what we were most of the time), do you want Branch or Welker sitting for Ocho. That was your choice.

I may have my numbers crossed (can't find an official offensive snap count), but I believe Slater was in for something like 3 whole offensive snaps. So... try again.

Please Borg, let us know what this means?

I'm channeling.....ah.....yes......Edelman will remain the #5 WR on the Patriots roster due to lack of playbook knowledge.....there you go.
Now help me out on Gronk....did he decide on two-ply or wet wipes....you're my source...go get 'em....Twitter away

That there is the operative word: former.

They're not in the locker-room. During the portions of practice when the media are excluded, they get ushered out along with all the other guys.

Tedy and Rodney are doing their jobs, just like they did when they played for the Pats. Only now, they deliver their hits while sitting in front of a microphone instead of on the field.
