Who is Rob Parker?

Re: "Tom Brady's season a fluke": Rob Parker

His argument is a bit silly. Even though they lost the big game, they more than proved that they didn't need cameras to win in 2007... And then the Cassel year, 14-2 this past season. Sure they haven't won the superbowl since 2004, that's a fact, but you can't win the Superbowl every season. It's an unrealistic expectation.

Re: "Tom Brady's season a fluke": Rob Parker

He says the Pats are "living on the past" and that they are overrated. His proof:

- They haven't won since 2004
- Belichick hasn't won since Spygate

Good thing ESPN has forward thinkers like Rob Parker. Parker will never be accused of "living on the past".

Re: "Tom Brady's season a fluke": Rob Parker

He's just a angry NY column writer.

Who is Rob Parker?

Looks like some half-wit mediot to me with a spotless track record in terms of his observations. I guess losing by 3 in the final game at 18-0 was somehow contrived and represents a feat attainable by any other NFL team. Nice insight.

"I know. I've heard it all. They were 14-2 last year. I know. And their last 16 home games, 16-0.

"But their last two playoff games at home, they both lost -- shocking losses to the Ravens and to the Jets the last two years. I still think people look at the Patriots and think they won last week. They haven't won since 2004. Let's be honest. Look at their playoff run."

Parker called Tom Brady's season "a fluke" and also dropped a Spygate reference as proof the Patriots and head coach Bill Belichick are overrated
.

A fluke? Brady's kept this team together.

The defense is still rebuilding, and only next season will tell if we'll see another playoff loss at home.

Re: "Tom Brady's season a fluke": Rob Parker

Rob Parker has some high freakin' standards. I'd love to hear him rip into the Jets considering they haven't won in decades.

Re: "Tom Brady's season a fluke": Rob Parker

28 teams have not won the Super Bowl since spygate ended. Only the Giants, Steelers, Saints, and Packers have. Are those other 27 overrated?

Re: "Tom Brady's season a fluke": Rob Parker

Any time someone uses "They haven't won since spygate" or "They haven't won since 2004" as if it's an end-all, you know they've got no argument.

It's true that they've not won the Super Bowl since 2004. They have, however, gone 16-0 and been to a Super Bowl and an AFCCG since then. That's not enough to make us all happy, since we're not Colts fans from the beginning of the decade, but it's enough to put the lie to the sort of nonsense Parker is spouting.

Re: "Tom Brady's season a fluke": Rob Parker

We were overdue for somebody at espn to bring up spygate; it's been at least week now.

I was going to say that Parker need to go back to his grade school teacher and check on the difference between the words "anything" and "everything". The fact he drops the "they haven't won anything since" line shows he is either not taking himself seriously or he has no business being a professional journalist.

But this is bspn; shows like First Take, Around the Horn, Pardon the Interruption, etc. should be taken as seriously as a reality show. It's all scripted BS aimed at getting people's attention to improve ratings; I doubt people even believe half the nonsense they say on those shows.

As for Parker, I think he is best known for asking then Lions coach Rob Marinelli “Do you wish your daughter had married a better defensive coordinator?”; Marinelli's daughter was married to his defensive coordinator, Joe Barry.

Re: "Tom Brady's season a fluke": Rob Parker

The next time Mark Sanchez scores with a chick who's not in pre-school will be a fluke.

Re: "Tom Brady's season a fluke": Rob Parker

LOL. He's just a bitter jets fan who happens to write. Sanchez isn't worthy of holding Brady's jock. Let's see that QB carry his team to the 1st and 7th highest scoring offenses in the HISTORY of the NFL first, then maybe we can talk. And that's before we even get into any talk of championships.

Re: "Tom Brady's season a fluke": Rob Parker

There are a lot of bitter, twisted, jealous people out there who need to believe that Tom Brady's whole HOF career remains some kind of fluke...

And/or members of the sports media that cater to those that wish and hope for that to be the case.

Re: "Tom Brady's season a fluke": Rob Parker

BTW Mr. Parker, it is quite a feat to get out argued by Skip Bayless. When most of the world is on Bayless' side, you know you have gone off the deep end.

"They haven't won since 2004. Let's be honest. Look at their playoff run."

Ok, let's look at their playoff run.

2005 - Won AFC East, went 1-1 in the playoffs, losing in the divisional round.
2006 - Won AFC East, went 2-1 in the playoffs, losing in the AFCCG.
2007 - Won AFC East, went 2-1 in the playoffs, winning the AFC and losing in the SB by 3 points.
2008 - Went 11-5 but missed the playoffs.
2009 - Won AFC East, went 0-1 in the playoffs, losing in the wild card round.
2010 - Won AFC East, went 0-1 in the playoffs, losing in the divisional round.

That's 5 AFC East titles, one AFC Championship, and a 5-5 playoff record.

Other teams have had better success (Pit, Ind, for example), but damn few teams have matched what the Pats have done the past six seasons, even in the playoffs.

Re: "Tom Brady's season a fluke": Rob Parker

Haha yeah like someone said before....."who is rob parker?"
Seriously though, I know he's on 1st and 10, which answers my first question about who is he.....he's NOBODY

Re: "Tom Brady's season a fluke": Rob Parker

I remember this guy. Hes the one who came out and said that Tyler Hansbrough would be a lousy NBA player because he was white.

He already has zero credibility and is a hack in the purest sense of the definition.
