Saw this poster from Finn Heaven :

•Brady asked Belichick: "What is best in football?"Bill: "To crush your rivals, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their cheerleaders."

Henne asked Sparano: "What is best in football?"
Tony: "To kick a field goal and fist-pump :D
."

Cut it out. I'm sure half the kids in Massachusetts schools couldn't find Texas on a map, tell you when it became a state, or who Sam Houston was. Turns out New England is only the center of the universe when you are standing in it.

New York City is the center of the known universe. Just sayin'. lol. There's the centrific island of Manhattan and the furthest reaches of the known universe extend all the way out to The Hudson & East rivers and that's it.

Casing point, where is the nation's collective attention focused on tonight? Times Square. I guess you could call it the The Center of the Known Universe's center. ehh ha ha. Happy New Year, those on the outside looking in.

Is it "case in point" or "casing point". I always thought it was the former.

If we exclude Jets fans, I'd say the majority of other teams fans I know are highly complimentary of BB and the Pats. Many hate the organization and BB, but they are full of respect for what we've accomplished and how we've accomplished it.

And Pitt fans..they are complete scum

And on the other side of things, the board Extremeskins has a thread in their general NFL section titled Are the Patriots still Cheating? Premise being that there is no way we should be better post-Spygate and Goodell was too soft on us anyway. Really.
I'm guessing that there is probably a similar thread on the majority of fan forums of the 31 other teams, thanks to some fairly recent comments by Easterbrook, King, Sando and a few yahoos.

The difference this year is that you're probably also more likely to see more 'damn, I wish our team was like them' threads on those same sites for the first time in about five years - and the 'their run is over' comments are probably very difficult to find right now.

Yes, you're right but I was pretty annoyed by the thread as well as amused that our view of Roger Goodell differs so drastically from theirs. We both hate him but for totally different reasons.

A few of the responders did note we have a "sick, sick team" which is always fun to read.

Serious question: do you ever comment about football? If I didn't know better the only time you have something to say, it is to defend the honor of New York City in the same manner a teenage girl would for her favorite top 40 singer.

It's like the time the guys on PFW were talking about food in Pittsburgh and you had to grab the phone and call and inform them that they were wrong! The food in New York is better! You probably still don't understand why they hung up on you.

Two groups of people have been brought up in this thread: New Yorkers and Texans. Those two groups hate each other for various reasons too numerous to get into here, but the one thing they both ironically have in common is they both, more than any two places I can think of, think where they live is the center of the universe and everything outside of it is irrelevant. :bricks:

Little wonder why most people outside of those two geographical entitites hate them. :D

j/k actually...I've been to both places and enjoyed both places. But their denizens both need to get out a little more. :D

HNY!

3)They are better prepared (kind of the same as haveing Belechick). They study more, not just in football, the schools are harder, in everyday conversation, they talk faster(talk to someone about footabll or chat with a girl; you will have to cover 5 topics in 30 sec).

A guy from Texas called into the weei one day and was talking so slow they hung up on him, thats just the way they talk down south, must be the hot weather.

How's that worse than having an "ionic" moment? There are plenty of idiots in Massachusetts and throughout New England.

That's like having Varitek kick the winning field goal eh? :singing:

Seriously, I love Texas, especially the food, though mesquite gets old after awhile. I'm hoping to relocate there in another year. My biggest concern is being able to watch Patriots games :D

Really? From Maine to Texas? That's a huge leap. As you said, the food is terrific down there though. The women are amazing too. EVERYTHING is bigger in Texas. ;)

Have you guys ever thought that the reason they aren't so hateful toward us is that their team is in the NFC? Just a thought . . .

I'm just getting priced out of Maine. It'd be nice to have a couple of warmer winters, too. :)

In all seriousness, I was looking at some property down around Tyler, Texas. Nice area, excellent schools. I can purchase a bigger and newer home, with 3X the land than the one I have for $100K less than what mine is appraised at.

I have some work to finish up first, though, but it's VERY tempting.

Well good luck and Happy New Year! Are you toasting with Bourbon?

Even as we speak....... :rocker:

Tapped a new bottle of Evan Williams for the occasion.

It's off to bed, however, after this glass is done.

Sleep well my friend. My choice tonight was Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout.

So in the center of the universe people use the term "casing point" instead of "case in point"?
