Shouldn't that be #8 and #34?

The Vikings pick projects to around #74 I think (give or take)

Nice work. Keep it up!

Thank ye, kind sir.

It's #8 + #33, unless I added the SOS wrong, which is entirely possible...

Good point on the Vikings. #74 or 75. Too bad I can't change the Thread title!!

I am WITH ya, Brothah!! GOOOOOOOOO, BRONCOS!! :rocker:

Week 6 Standings

1 ~ Panthers 0-5 ~ 51-39
2 ~ Buffaloes 0-5 ~ 51-36
3 ~ Miners 1-5 ~ 45-44
4 ~ Lions 1-5 ~ 48-41
5 ~ Browns 1-5 ~ 49-36

As it stands, we're looking at #8 + #33.

The Raiders moved up 3 spots, and the Panthers moved up to #1!! :D

GREAT week for the Patriots, INDEED!! :rocker:

As much as I hate to look forward when we are having such a good season right now, we are going to be loaded going into the 2011 draft!

GBN projects the standings as of today as NE from Oakland at #9, NE @ #30, NE from Carolina @ #34, and NE @ #60.

Thanks for the work done in this thread. But Great Blue North disagrees. They say #9 and #34*. The good news is, I can't see the #5-#8 teams actually finishing the season in better draft position than Oakland. Probably not #4 or possibly #3 either.

Great Blue North Draft Report

*Since teams with the same W/L alternate each round.

Hmmm...

Well, I've double checked my math, and unless I'm being a complete ****** ~ which would not be unprecedented!! ~ Great Blue North has it wrong. And that's too bad, because I would be DELIGHTED to outsource this to them, and we could just Cut + Paste their work, here!! :D

Thanks for the kind words, by the way ~ and for Great Blue North!! ~ and if you or anyone would care to check my math on this, I would be very gratefull: We're all on the same team, here, and I will GLADLY take all the help I can get!!

*And thanks for straightening me out on the "alternating" bit!! In retrospect, I realize that that's what ConPats was doing, but I was being a CrackHead, and misunderstood: I'd had the impression that they only did that alternating bit if the pick was determined by a coin flip. Thanks to both of you for your persistence on this one!!

Right ON, Brothah!! And there's nothing wrong with having your cake AND eating, too!! :rocker:

No thanks. I'll leave the math to others. Me and math have a mutual understanding. I don't mess with it, and it doesn't kill any more brain cells. :lol2:

And I'm not 100% positive the way the alternating picks work. I think it's the way I mentioned. But it could be how you said.

The only difference in schedule for the AFC West teams is the 2 cames against cross-conference teams that finished at the same spot in the standings.

Oakland - Pitt 4-1, Miami 3-2
Denver - Balt 4-2, nyj 5-1
SD - Cincy 2-3, ne 4-1

SD OPPONENTS 6-4
Oakland 7-3
Denver 9-3

So, the order would be
7. SD
8. Oakland
9. Denver

I'm sure SD, Denver and Dallas will finish better than the raiders. I'm also pretty confident SF will. I think the pick is 3-5. Buffalo and Carolina clearly at the bottom. Cleveland and Detroit next. I think Detroit has a decent chance to finish better than Oakland. They are developing a heckuva offense; Calvin Johnson, Best, Pettigrew and Stafford. Cleve faces a brutal schedule with a rookie qb. I think they pick 3rd and Det 4th for now. Oakland pick 5th

Seems like I've heard that, somewhere, before...:p

Sadly, as a result of the HORRIFIC massacre in Denver, Al Davis has invoked the rarely-used Cribbage Rule, and their first pick has been discounted to a 3rd Rounder.

Not a good day for the picks as both Oakland and Carolina one. What happened in Denver? That was a beatdown.

It was a bad one, indeed.

Current Standings:

1 ~ Buffaloes 0-6
2 ~ Miners 1-6
3 ~ Lions 1-5 ~ 53-49
4 ~ Panthers 1-5 ~ 59-46
5 ~ CowBoys 1-4 ~ 58-47
6 ~ Browns 2-5
6 ~ Broncos 2-5
6 ~ Chargers 2-5
9 ~ Vikings 2-4
9 ~ Bengals 2-4
11 ~ Rams 3-4 ~ 41-55
12 ~ Raiders 3-4 ~ 51-53
13 ~ Jaguars 3-4 ~ 52-51

If my understanding is correct, tonight's game falls just short of affecting Carolina's position in the 2nd Round.

The good news, as I see it, is this: The Raiders have won 3 games against some bad teams, while also losing a couple to bad teams, by the way. But their upcoming schedule is for 4 consecutive games against playoff caliber teams, followed by 2 road games against teams ~ the Bolts + Jaguars ~ who have all the makings of playoff caliber teams, and will probably be playing very well, by then.

In short: a 6 game losing streak beckons, which would drop them to a nifty 3-10.

They should then beat the Broncos at home, but Indy and a road game at KC are very likely losses.

So it looks like a 4-12 season for them, to me.

And by the end of the year, I'm confident that the Miners, Lions, Panthers, CowBoys, Browns, Chargers, Vikings, Bengals, and Rams will've all passed the Raiders on the upside.

And if it shakes out that way, we'll end up with the 3rd pick in the Draft.

Raiders will beat Seattle this week. Split with KC. Beat Denver again. And, play at Jax.
I see 6-7 wins for them.

No way.I see Denver beating them after the shellacking they took from them.Seattle is 4-2 and their defense is actually better. The raiders to me are still not a good team.I hope Seattle and KC beat them.

Yes! Seattle has been CRUSHING the Run Game on Defense, and if the Raiders can't run, they are DUST. And all those other teams on their schedule ~ except the Broncos ~ are significantly more sound and better led than the Raiders.

In a word: The Raiders have now completed the soft part of their schedule.

I actually think the Raider sweep the Broncos, who are playing AWFUL FootBall, but here's hoping you're right, as I have NO objection to picking up #2!! :D

I am just hoping to have a top 12 pick.I still think the defensive line needs upgrading.

The freakin Cowboys are going to finish with a worse record than Oakland. They're 1-5 now. And, if Romo is out for an extended period of time they are doomed.

I bet you all 10 bucks that the Raiders pick is 12th in the 2011 draft!
