Interesting - Ryan meet with Revis | Revis Deal Done

Re: Revis deal done

I hope he comes in 30 lbs overweight.

I hope he blows a hammy ... better yet ... a hammy and a groin pull from the tug job Rex gave him.

Re: Revis deal done

Revis is a great player, but I wonder how now TC or preseason will affect him. I imagine he won't come out of the gate as strong as he might have otherwise.

I wondered that aswell! I reckon it will take him a few games to be back in the 'groove'!

Not surprising, the Jets caved and gave Revis the guaranteed money he was looking for. Obviously, the Jets are concerned what we all have been seeing all preseason and on Hard Knocks. This is a team with a good defense and a horrible offense. Neither side of the ball may be as good as it was last year. Revis may be their only hope not to be a huge disapointment.

No way to spin it. The Jets are better today than they were yesterday. I may revise my estimates of them being 8-8 to 9-7. They still have Sanchez and the offense to drag down their defense.

Would that not be the perfect conclusion for this week end.:)

why?....did you really think they weren't going to eventually work out a deal. It was inevitable as the team had the leverage in this situation.

But the good new is.....you wont have to ever worry about Sanchez holding out at any point. I predict his career goes down the same path as fellow alum Matt Leinart :D

That's funny! But I don't like to see any players get hurt. Rumor has it Wrecksie the clown pulled a forearm stroking him and had to seek treatment in a south Florida emergency room.

Of course you wouldn't because you're demonstrating a narcissistic attitude.

What's the bet he is googling that to find out what you called him as we speak

Nice- when the Pats kick the **** out of the Jets in week 2, they won't have an excuse.

The Jets have the best secondary in the NFL now.

This board is biased, this secondary is a force now with

#1 - Revis, potentially the best since Deon Sanders, coming into his prime.

#2 - Cromartie, as a number 2 CB, are you kidding me!

#3 - Wilson, who several teams believed was the best man to man CB in the draft and has impressed in the pre-season.

THe Pats offense vs the Jets D will be EPIC, seriously, week 2 can't get here fast enough!

It will be your super bowl ... just like every year it's your super bowl.

Every year it's the must see and decisive game ... :spygate:

Every year it's like the Freddy Krueger movie
... just like Freddy you guys kill the Patriots in your dreams.

Hint ... all 16 games count as a win or a loss ... you don't get 2 for beating us once.

Wouldn't be just great if he had a down year? I mean sure its not like CB have bad years right Cromartie...ohh yeah thats right you have been declining since your 3rd year in the league never mind

And then Mark Brunell can do a Kurt Warner :D

Wow, Tubby Ryan goes to Florida to make things right.

Somehow, I picture THIS MOVIE SCENE** at the very thought of it.

** - CONTENT ADVISORY - Definitely not safe for work. (great gangster movie though) :D

I bet Moss is smiling ear to ear. He has to have been wanting another
shot at Revis. I hope he leaves him eating dirt on a play or two.
Wouldn't surprise me if Randy and Tom have something special just for
this prima donna.

I love this we can now beat them at their best. Moss will be determined to beat him and even if he has moss 1 on1 then welker is double covered Brady is either gonna have all day to find a reciever or there will be guys like Edelman or any of the TE's will have 1 on 1 I really don't mind that.

Re: Revis deal done

Don't see how that makes much of a difference for them, the D is good with or without him. The offense will still suck...unless he can play QB too.

We really can't be cavalier about this.

With Revis back, and the rest of the D, the whole idea is that their "sucking" offense doesn't have to score a lot of points. Figure the D is good for a TD a game, then all the Sanchize has to do is stumble or luck his way into another 10 points and the Jets will have 17 points and be in the game until the end.

Well, you're going to get a chance to test the old saying: "Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it."

Ummmm, I think it's a little ambitious to think their D is good for 7 a game.

Seriously, I think they'll be tough and teams will have to work for points and field position, but to EXPECT points might be a little much. Just saying.

I have a lot of respect for Revis as a player, for your entire D and for Ryan as a Defensive Coach. But I think a few of you are blowing a 9--7 (gift) season with one solid playoff run out of proportion. You have to earn your way into the "epic" category in the NFL. The Pats have, you haven't. Take a deep breath and wait for your team, especially your offense, to show that it deserves the hyperbole you are heaping on it.

The NFL is an unpredictable and treacherous place. Sometimes 5--11 teams go on to win next season's Super Bowl and sometimes 9--7 teams remain at 9--7. Let your team speak for itself between the lines on Sundays. If they show that they can navigate an NFL schedule and come out with 12 or 13 wins, then my hat will be off to them.

And, Daniel Snyder, among others, has proven the fallacy of trying to build a team from exceptional parts in this League.

This being an uncapped year might defray some of the cost to a future cap?

Will the Jets be in cap hell, some have claimed that is where they were going for years, and here they are now due to there savvy management are in good enough financial shape to sign Revis to a mega deal.

Who knows what the new CBA will bring? Tannebaum GM of the year?
Typical Jet fan. GM of the year has to win something, bud.
And you dont get GM of the year for having your player with 3 years left on his contract sit out camp so you can over pay him.
Total mismanagement of the situaition ended by throwing money at him in the 11th hour is not good management. ITs the opposite.
