How so? If the contract is anywhere near the 162m/10 years his agent was asking for then this really sucks for the Jets and puts them in a difficult position in regard to the cap.

It is really idiotic to make a cornerback the highest paid player of a team.

Which actually may not mean as much as it sounds... we've seen how often lately big money contracts were smoke and mirrors and/or aren't guaranteed for both skill and injury and thus give the team a relatively cheap out. Will the Jets be in cap hell, some have claimed that is where they were going for years, and here they are now due to there savvy management are in good enough financial shape to sign Revis to a mega deal.
