Pats release McKenzie

Why? Because a 3rd round pick who blew out his knee and missed a year of football isnt ready to be on the 53? Interesting standards you have.
Does the scouting department get credit from you for scouting the guys who beat him out?

there have been a lot more misses than hits the last few years... sorry that u cant see that, now i could be wrong ,but i the proof will be in the pudding ... who is rushing the passer ??? 3 offensive line man from the last 2 drafts gone.. not to mention the Derrick Burgess blunder, there is no back up plan .. that has to be some fault on the scouting dept ....

so, Crable or T McK on the practice squad? or both?

sooo... does this mean dane fletcher is def making this team as the back-up ILB?

Guys, stop freaking out.

We cut him because we are keeping 4 ILBs, and we had our 3. It's all up to what you look for in that 4th guy. It could be a very different role (ST wise) from what you look for in the 3rd guy.

If we kept 5 ILBs, Tyrone would have a spot...but we had to keep more at different positions. Well, not "had to", but that's the call that was made.

Some of these arguments defending the cut make no sense to me. We cut him to give him another chance because he wasn't about to displace Spikes? We cut him because we have good depth there already?

I'm sorry, but backup ILB has been a perennial weakness.

I've seen too much of Monty Beisel, Eric Alexander, Larry Izzo and Don Davis back there. He's not going to be defending the pass, Guyton will do that in case Mayo goes down, but Guyton can't fill and stop the run well.
I agree, there are people including myself that are questioning their starters cough... Mayo

Could you kindly name for me all the teams in the NFL that have had no misses the last few years?

We still have 5: Mayo, Spikes, Guyton, Fletcher, White.

Just look in the division alone:

These are the biggest failures that come off the top of my head without any looking.

Jets: Gholston
Bills: Maybin
Dolphins: White, Ginn. Merling isn't doing too great either.

What happened? Why would they ban him and then allow him back on here as another name?

I'm guessing it was his style of posting. That's really a question to ask the mods, though.

DB, the mods are obviously allowing you to have a new lease on life here... and all you're doing is making them eventually bring down the axe on you again. Just ignore him and everyone else you don't like and bring commentary to the board.

I am not DaBruinz.. He is someone else..
If he and I happen to have the same opinion, that doesn't make us the same person.

If you're not DaBruinz :snob: then you're going down the same road as he is, which leads to a ban. You might want to cut back on the constant personal attacks and stick more with sensible debate.

BB is definately keeping us guessing with some of these moves. I get the feeling that there is a lot more to come. :bricks:

Just like he kept us guessing in 2008, when he refused to bring in the "old vaunted seasoned vet" when tommy boy went down.

I don't know much, but I do know that I can't predict what BB is gonna do. Or even understand most of what he does.

I still haven't figured out why the multimillionaire insists on dressing worse than the homeless bums in the park. I am not gonna try and second guess his roster moves.

I know he was injured but if they didn't see enough potential then I'd have to call a 3rd round pick cut after one season on IR a bust. Kind of heart breaking to waste picks like that although I realize everyone has busts and at least this guy's attitude was good.

Why didn't they draft Manieri I wonder instead of the incredible mr. lynch? And also, isn't he similar to the OT we have now from ND who also was a TE or something? Levoir?

Not against the signing seems like he has potential.

Also I would think with back surgery Kaczur is out a couple months at least or so...surprised they haven't IRed him.

Just strangely similar ;)

That may well happen, but clearly they felt that the likelihood of his returning was high enough that it was worth keeping him on the 53.

I didn't know he'd gotten the axe..... Learning new things all the time.

Surprised.. but it looked like he played "small"....

Loved his story, but that can't be the reason to keep him..

They seem to doing the same type of moves with ILB this year what they did with TE last year. Cut Alexander, McKenzie makes the team, trade for Tracy White, release McKenzie. Last year it was release Smith, trade Thomas and trade for Matthews, eventually release Matthews.
