Holley: Ty Warren may be out for the year

I really wish we still had Seymour.

not to jump to conclusions but from what i read:

labral hip tear + surgery = IR

people who get this surgery are still in pain after 6 months!

Hopefully he does that experimental treatment that A-Rod had done on his labrum-- platelet rich plasma injection or whatever it was? At least that way he'll have a better shot of being fully ready for next season.

arod did have surgery for a torn labrum, but he was only out 6-9 weeks. hopefully TW can get the same treatment. i really wish reiss wouldn't make write headlines that "Warren could be done for the year" without knowing anything else. I honestly relied on him to do his medical research, but if Arod was only out a couple of months, the same could be true for warren. we have to just wait and see what the patriots doctors say.

I'm not saying that their injuries are comparable: A-Rod's was probably less significant, and baseball is far less demanding on the hip than football is. I'm just hoping that he goes with that platelet injection therapy, because one of the big issues with labrum injuries is that blood doesn't naturally circulate there much.

He was at training camp, and that's where he was almost certainly injured. He wouldn't have passed his conditioning test and been practicing if it was a preexisting issue. It was the offseason workouts that he missed.

Well, it could have been injured before TC and might have been something that was lingering around and he could have further injured it in TC. For what I've heard, Ty has been pretty banged up the last few years. A year off might do him some good, but we're still going to miss him. Just how much we miss him is a matter of the coaching staff and his replacement. Let's just say that I hope we don't miss him like we missed Seymour last season...

The problem, though, is the Seymour absence (and for all of you ready to pounce..... NO, I don't want to rehash that). Even if Warren can equal Warren, which I'm not confident will be the case, the Seymour part of the equation is still being left unfilled.

The Pats better change their scheme or it's going to look like 2002/2005/Raven's a** kicking all over again.

First they trade Seymour when they could've signed him in an uncapped year but use the cop out of the CBA, then potentially lose Warren for the year.

If Warren is out for year, the Pats should utilize Pryor and run a 4-3. Warren would be their 2 down DT.

Yea, hindsight is 20/20. I still don't have that big of a problem with the Seymour trade, even though I'm not a big fan of the "accumulating draft picks/a #1 for Seymour is too good of a value to pass up" philosophy. The problem with the team last year (if you can call it that) was much bigger than a just hole at RDE.

This sucks about Warren, but it's still all about team, and the Pats have more than enough ammo teamwide, even without Mankins, Kazcur and Warren to compete for a Lombardi.

And ARod doesn't weigh over 300lbs. That makes a difference.

For a lot of us, it isn't an issue of hindsight. There were quite a few of us that hated the trade even at the time, and this turn of events isn't making it look any better.

The obvious solution I see is to bring back Paris Lenon.
I know he's an MLB and we need a 3-4 DE.... but he's Paris Lenon damnit

Adam Seward FTW!

Seward was all hype.

Lenon is a proven worldbeater

Sure is "end of the world" in this thread, damn.
