Brady texted support to Stallworth after accident; more details from MMQB

I pray you and all the Donte supporters in here never have a relative or someone die at the hands of a drunk driver, its devastating.

I lost my first girlfriend to a drunk driving accident on 95 in 1972. My first cousin, a R.I. state trooper, was killed on 95 by a drunk driver in '99.My father was a RI State trooper for 22 years. My older brother is a crisis psychologist for police departments statewide and on 24 hour call. I don't know how to make you understand I am NOT a Donte Stallworth supporter because you just refuse to read plain English. The guy who smashed into my girlfriend's vehicle drunk lost his license for 5 years and got a suspended sentence. The man that killed my cousin Jack was a repeat offender and got ten years...got out in five and is on lifetime probation. That is THE LAW.My personal feelings have no bearing on those adjudications, nor should they. Brady's decision to reach out to Stallworth as a friend is HIS business.AND his right in a free society.

I am not trying to fight with you Joker and my sympathies to those you lost because of this unfortunate problem that so many have but can't control or think about before they do it.

My beef is that you had said to another that in 2010, death by Drunk Driving is not considered murder, While it is not murder in MOST circumstances,it is NOT impossible either and probably more common than we know depending on which state this crime occurs in and how they determine malice/intent

Thats what I mean here,A few words make a difference in determining what a post means

However I truly believe if Donte was not a star athlete and just a joe schmoe and not able to hand over huge sums of cash to the victims family to help them get over losing a human life with $$$, he is right now in a cell spending the next few years in prison and the victims family sues him and pursues justice.

Do I think the laws were bent a little in favor of Donte?...I sure do

It happens all the time,Like cops in my area that I know well always tell me "We put them away, the Judge lets them right back out because they are not violent criminals" - Laws are bent more often than you think

2006 AFC championship game, his pick ended the game.

That was the biggest game of Brady's career? Way to be intentionally obtuse.

The biggest game of Mannings career was his first sb, which he won.

Congratulations. How does it feel to have every single person who follows football either recreationally or for a living outside of Colts homers and Manning ballwashers disagree with you? Manning's biggest game of his entire career was this Super Bowl. He needed it to prove that he wasn't a one year wonder and actually deserved to be mentioned in the same breath as Brady. He responded by watching Tracy Porter intercept a pass in which he stared his receiver down and take it to the house to give the Saints the win. Fail.

I'm a Brady fan, I'm saying that anyone who claims Manning is a crappy QB is full of **** up to their eyeballs.

Saying that Manning is not a GOAT is not the same as saying Manning is a crappy quarterback. The fact that Manning his been absolutey harpooned on this forum since the Super Bowl and has not received the slightest bit of help by the usual Colts homers should tell you something.

A tragic accident? Tell that to the families whose life Stallworth has ruined.

It is extraordinarily presumptuous of you to pretend to speak of the feelings of the families involved. Every situation is different and people react their own way. Some people's lives are "ruined" by much less, not even requiring a death, but many others are more resilient and forgiving and soon move on with their lives from something like this or much worse. Or society is waaay to quick to judge that lives have been "ruined".

Stallworth drove drunk and killed someone, period. That's what happened and he got off way to easy.

I guess we will have to bow to your opinion... the fact the judge and prosecutor and lawyers who actually have access to the FACTS of the case and deal with the applicable laws on a daily basis felt differently means nothing, apparently they are just not as smart as some on this thread.

It's not my problem that you make excuses for a man who got in his vehicle DRUNK and killed someone.

I suspect you drive drunk on a regular basis? It's just a few beers right? No big deal...until you run someone down like Stallworth did.

He was drunk, just accept it.

Hate to intrude between you two,but I am 45 and have NEVER been drunk let alone drive that way.

Drinking never has been a thing for me even in my early days,However I am a gambler so a saint I am not :)

No. I live in Boston, so I take a cab... and if I don't have access to a cab, I don't drink.

Your statement is telling. I guess we know who has a 'few beers' and drives on the weekends.

Stallworth got drunk, drove, killed someone and then tried to talk his way out of it. It's very simple people...he got off easy because of his fame and wealth.

Good man. Don't be like Donte Stallworth, get drunk, drive and kill someone.

And yet, you seem to not ask about the dead man's Blood Alcohol Limit... why he was crossing a cordoned street AGAINST oncoming traffic. At night. I'd say you ought to reconsider just WHO was using poor judgement that night.

Stallworth paid the price society demanded of him. It's over. I'd welcome him back on this team.

Yes, I'm sure you've always done this as well... even when you were 16-18 years old.

Where I usually go costs me under $5 to take a cab. However, there have been instances when I've gone out to dinner to a place where it would have been $40-$50 to take a cab and have driven home even after having a few beers. Unlike so many in this thread, I'm not going to obviously lie on the internet to make myself look like more of a self-righteous prick.

No, he got off "easy" because the D.A. could easily see that the pedestrian that got hit screwed up as well by walking across a MAJOR highway when it was dark out (not that I expect you to actually know where 395 is). He got off "easily" because he called the 911 immediately afterward and wasn't slurring in the slightest when he did so. He got off "easy" because he ensured that the victim's family was taken care of financially for the rest of their lives. He got off "easy" because he cooperated fully with the D.A. and the prosecution instead of wasting their time by trying to plead "not guilty" and drag the case out.

Of course, in BostonPatriot's world, Stallworth head to wipe the drool off his chin and control his thunderous laughter as he stepped on the gas and put the pedal to the floor in order to mow down a helpless pedestrian who was only confused and thought that he was on a two lane, 25 MPH posted speed limit, residential road trying to find his poor wife's wedding ring, which fell off her finger during their leisurely 5:00 in the morning drive.

Didn't you get the memo, Kontra? QBs are either the best ever or the worst ever. There is no in between.

I know a certain QB who has had the same type of ending to a lot of really big games recently. Want to take a guess?

I know of one who, just a matter of weeks ago, took the gas pipe in a Super Bowl and threw a pick-6 on what could have been the tying, or go ahead, drive for his team. That same QB was the one a poster was insisting wasn't a choker.

Want to take a guess? Maybe you also know that poster who clowned himself on that claim...

I don't drive drunk. Never have, never will- if my friends and I are going someplace where we can't easily get a cab, someone DDs. I don't particularly care about this argument one way or the other, but it's not quite as rare as you seem to think it is.

1.) Driving drunk is not the same as driving with a blood alcohol level that is over the legal limit.

2.) The next person I meet who isn't a teetotaler and can still honestly claim never to have gotten behind the wheel with alcohol in their system will be the very first one.

Your post is rediculous. Stallworth got DRUNK, DROVE his car and KILLED a man. People dart into the street all the time. Pedestrians do dumb things constantly. Had Stallworth not been DRUNK he would not have been at fault.

It's very simple

Btw, the dead mans blood alchol level is a non issue. It's not illegal to walk while drunk. However it is illegal to drive while drunk.

Have to disagree there...Cops will arrest you for public drunkeness if they feel you are a hazard to the community...and thats walking down the street
