That is a very simplified version of the two QBs since Brady has fewer INTs and more TDs (even with missing a year) since Brees took over the starting role in NO. Yes, Brees' completion percentage is higher (not by a whole bunch), Brady still makes smarter decisions and is less prone to cough up the ball.

Peyton Manning is the #2 QB of his generation. Do you really expect his coach won't claim he's #1 and use any and all arguments to try supporting it? Hell, some Patriots fans try to use "the Manning face" as part of their argument about why Brady's better than Manning.

As much as us fans try to, I'm not sure there really is an argument for Brady over Manning. It's a team sport so you can't just say "3 rings vs 1". He has performed well in the playoffs (Brady has had stinkers just like Manning), so you can't use that argument. At the end of the day, they are two of the best QBs to ever play the game and you can't go wrong with either. Patriot fans will like Brady as the #1 while Colts fans will like Manning as the #1. It doesn't really matter because they really are both #1.

Brees is definitely playing better right now, but for a career no one can honestly say Brees has been better. If Brees keeps this up and they get a ring he may end up with Tom in the hall of fame though.

Brees is an excellent QB..... He is Great..... I hated playing him w/ the Chargers. He can get it done...... he is a fantastic player.... It will be interesting to see how he handles himself in the Playoffs. He is the best QB in my book..... he reminds me of a dominant Brady. If the Pats cannot win...... I wish Brees and the Saints the best of luck. The Saints deserve a title..... especially because of the Katrina devastation.

As much as I love and defend TFB..... TFB is GREAT.... no QUESTION


Brees is still a fantastic QB though....... Brees right now reminds me of an early successful TFB.

He was pitching countless products as far back as 2004. That really doesn't have to do with Brady. Besides that, these are all valid points.

Get real. Does that mean Bary Sanders can't be mentioned with the GOATs because he only won 1 playoff game, let alone never getting to a Supebowl? Rings are fine when comparing great/similar teams, but not for individuals. It's a team sport.

You play to win, that is the only reason to play.
I would agree that AMONG THOSE WHO DON'T WIN, all of the things they did while losing are the way to compare them.
However, there is a huge difference between the accomplishments you put up while losing and the accomplishments which contributed to a win.

There is absolutely no way Barry Sanders should even be in the conversation of best ever. The same goes for Marino.
Stats that contribute to a loss are irrelevent. Look at Marino's stats for the last game he played in each season (ie the playoff game they lost, or the last game of a on playoff season---he had a few last week losses that cost playoff spots) and you will see a tremendously below average QB.
There is no way the definition of best ever is get a whole lot of stats to get your team to a playoff game and then play like crap and blame it on the team being no good.
