PD - Just When You Thought It Was Safe To Stop Hating The Jets…

Hateing the jets is a GOD GIVING RIGHT! period.;)

I see absolutely nothing wrong with what Ryan said.

What this "article" is all about is a Patriots homer that hates to see a division rival speaking with confidence, nitpicking every little thing and finding things that aren't there.

For example, how is this a "jab at the Patriots?" They asked Ryan how many stitches a player got. “I don’t know how many,” Ryan said, referring to the number of stitches required to get Harris’ cut under control. “We’re keeping that from New England.” This is just a harmless joke and playing into the very spirit of the game.

What a completely ignorant article written by a true knucklehead. You don't have to search that hard for reasons to hate the Jets.

I thought the stitches comment was very funny.

I smell a Jets fan. What has your team done lately to justify "speaking with confidence"?

Actually, I'm a Bills fan...and what you seem to fail to recognize is that your team has no chance of winning if you don't have confidence. It's essential, and you don't have to justify it.

Yeah! I got half a mind to ring his doorbell and run.

I don't think you'd have to worry about running

His fat ass couldn't catch anyone anyway

And the consequences for his said actions, means more motivation from our coach and team (if that's even possible)

Good job Rex, keep the comments coming

I agree that you need your team to play with confidence, and as an NFL coach, your job is to do that. Behind closed doors, not through the media, and not doing anything to give the other team reasons for motivation.

He obviously isn't too smart, because he could've given his team the motivation they needed :

1. Behind closed doors--away from the media and Patriots
2. A tad bit closer to the actual game in 3 1/2 months
3. Without giving extra motivation to the other squad by giving lots of bulletin board material

I guess that's why he's a rookie head coach--dude isn't the smartest

And as for the title of the thread: I NEVER thought it was safe to stop hating the Jets

The importance of confidence and how to win........from a Bills fan.

Nice, but give me a break here. I watch the games; I don't play them. It's not like I did anything wrong if my team loses. I'm a football fan, and have been for 30 years. Anyone can recognize the need to have confidence.

But there is a thin line between confidence and ****iness, and you may have just crossed it. LOL. Seriously, I don't think Ryan was being ****y...and I'm not really trying to defend him, just calling it like I see it. I dislike the Jets as much as any Patriots fan. I find Ryan's bravado annoying too, but I'm sure I'd see it differently if I were a Jets fan, which is kind of my point.

Ryan has a twin brother. I wonder if he is as fat as Rex.

I see your point and respect your opinion, BUT this is expected behavior from the Jets and the big difference between confidence and ****iness is a big mouth and one's actions. The Patriots have every right to be ****y because they have actually won something, but you won't ever hear them trash-talking 3 months prior to or even during the season. The Jets haven't done sh!t so that's all that comes out of their collective mouths.

First of all, I don't see where Ryan trash-mouthed anybody. In fact, he went out of his way several times to say that he respected the Patriots and Tom Brady. He just said that he thinks he can beat you guys...that ain't arrogance, that's football.

Also, being ****y is never good. It's such a bad word that it get censored on this board. Nobody likes a ****y person that shows no respect and rubs your face in your defeat. That much is clear to me.

Of course, like you suggested, Ryan is going to have to back up what he says on the field, so he could be setting himself up to look foolish with all his big talk. And I think that will happen.

Semantics at work here. Those of us who hate the Jets also despise, detest, etc etc.

You are just using a narrower definition of hate. Fandom hate is like hating a movie, hating mole sauce, hating BBQ pork, hating clowns in the MNF booth.

I wouldn't get too worked up about fans hating other teams. Hating BBQ pork, on the other hand, is just plain wrong.

point taken on the hating, but, mmm...don't know on the bbq...texas or Kansas City?

If season ticket sales don't pick up, we can expect to hear more of this. Aren't they selling PSL's, too? Wonder how that new stadium is coming, anyway?

Oh. You mean the new GIANTS/JETS Stadium.
