However, if he really expects to get $7 mil per year guaranteed, he is seriously smoking crack. Washington was the only team dumb enough to offer him that kind of money.
At that cost, I'd rather pay some more (and give up draft picks) to get Julius Peppers.
That number has to be wrong. $7 mil per year guaranteed? Smoking crack!
Hmmm
An older player that needs to learn a new playbook, at a new position, and doesn't want to participate in an off-season training program wants big guaranteed money?
Anyone else see all the red flags here?
I don't know. Getting rid of a 34 year old Mike Vrabel and then bringing in a 34 year old Jason Taylor? Doesn't make a lot of sense and I'd wonder how it would go over in the locker room other than Brady. I don't want him. Is it too crazy to want players that are at least younger than 32 on this team? Jeesh!
I believe there are only 6 players on this team older than the age of 32. Check your facts Jeesh. If 32 is your cut off are you going to want Brady in a few years?

6 players too many if you ask me. How many of those 6 players were dealing with some sort of injury last year? Would Junior Seau have broken his arm if he was 5 years younger? How many arm tackles has he made in his career? Older players get injured. Then what good are they? Would Tedy have gotten injured last year if he wasn't slow and running behind the play? No. Because he would've made the play 6 yards up field and been in better position to make the play. Did you see Rodney's knee just buckle? I mean, I love these players just as much as the next guy but with older players it's just a matter of time till they're sitting in the training room.

What?!! All I want is to see our team get younger. What's wrong with that?
Nothing in your post happened, and you've effectively labeled Brady as fitting in with your ageist stance.

There are so many problems with this post.....
You mention Seau's broken arm....not sure where age factors into breaking bones (until you are like 80)....But also that was his first year with us he came back the following year and played the whole year including SB and came out retirement the following year to play 4 games no injury.
Rodney's injury last year was his quad I think upper leg at least....not knee that was a few years ago....Rodney was 31 when we signed him where would we have been in 03 and 04 without him?
Younger players get hurt too...Woods, Maroney.....
IMO if you are drafting well consistantly thru the years than you have all the youth you need and you should bring in the best talent you can regardless of age thru FA to suplement that so you have a good balance of youth and experience. The Pats have always done this well and I am sure we will see another player or 2 plus 32 brought in or back before the season starts.
Where on earth does this attitude of "if you're young enough you're good enough" come from? I've never understood it.
